SHARH OF THE 40 HADEETH: HADEETH NUMBER 17

01-11-2012 (Night Dars)

HADITH NUMBER 17:

On the authority of Abu Ya’la Shaddad bin Aws (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (
) said: Verily Allah has prescribed ihsan (proficiency, perfection) in all things. So if you kill then kill well; and if you slaughter, then slaughter well. Let each one of you sharpen his blade and let him spare suffering to the animal he slaughters." It was related by Muslim.

BIOGRAPHY OF ABU YA’LA SHADAD BIN AWS

-the narrator bin Aws was a sahabi from Madina
-he was a scholar and a relative of the poet of the prophet (
)
-anytime we do something we should do it properly

Verily, Allāh enjoins Al-Adl (i.e. justice and worshipping none but Allāh Alone - Islāmic Monotheism) and Al-Ihsān [i.e. to be patient in performing your duties to Allāh, totally for Allāh's sake and in accordance with the Sunnah (legal ways) of the Prophet
in a perfect manner], and giving (help) to kith and kin (i.e. all that Allāh has ordered you to give them e.g., wealth, visiting, looking after them, or any other kind of help, etc.): and forbids Al-Fahshā' (i.e all evil deeds, e.g. illegal sexual acts, disobedience of parents, polytheism, to tell lies, to give false witness, to kill a life without right, etc.), and Al-Munkar (i.e all that is prohibited by Islāmic law: polytheism of every kind, disbelief and every kind of evil deeds, etc.), and Al-Baghy (i.e. all kinds of oppression), He admonishes you, that you may take heed. (An-Nahl 16:90)

-we should do things well because your reputation is at stake
-if you don’t do it well it is because you lack sincerity
-you should do the task well
-when you do things properly you make a name for yourself
-you should do things properly and perfectly

Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet
said, "Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately, and receive good news because one's good deeds will not make him enter Paradise." They asked, "Even you, O Allah's Apostle?" He said, "Even I, unless and until Allah bestows His pardon and Mercy on me." [Sahih Bukhari (8/98) No. 6463]

-Allah has commanded you to be just
-and do things with perfection
-the hadith means that only by the mercy of Allah we go to paradise
-we are not pious enough to go by our deeds

You make a name for yourself when you do things properly
-some mechanics work under a tree but fix your car properly
-not like some who half-fix the car to make you come back for more work
-the one who worked under a tree and did well ended up with a huge garage
-and has 20 mechanics working under him
-he is CEO of his company
-a good reputation can make you a millionaire
-you cannot buy a good reputation

عن عائشة، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: «إن الله عز وجل يحب إذا عمل أحدكم عملا أن يتقنه»

Narrated Aisha (r.a): who said the messenger of Allah (
) said that Allah loves that any of you who does an act should do it properly and he should complete the action [Musnad Abu Ya'la (7/349) No. 4386, al-Mu'jam al-Awsat al-Tabarani (1/275) No. 897, Shu'ab al-Eman al-Bayhaqi (7/233) No. 4931]

-if you are the CEO of a computer company and have a worker who doesn't fix well
-you need to fire him because he will bring your company to disrepute
-it is deception for you to collect money to fix something and the job was not done

Abu Hurayra (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (
), said, "Anyone who carries arms against us is not one of us. Anyone who cheats us is not one of us." [Sahih Muslim, Book 1, Hadith #182]

-as a Muslim you should do anything in life with perfection
-for example when wiping the table you should not wipe around the plate on the table
-but you should lift up the plate and wipe

Some do not build properly, do not mix cement properly and so the building collapses
 -sometimes bridges collapse
-sometimes the government say that they will sue a company for malpractice
-sometimes you have to sue doctors for malpractice
-some leave knives or equipment inside after operations
-dentist and doctors are sued, this is not haraam in Islam
-because your health is sacred
-if dentist extracted wrong tooth you can sue him
-why didn't he check with x-rays to get it right

Your reputation depends on the work that you do
-the largest Muslim country in the world is Indonesia
-more than 250 million Muslims
-but they did not become Muslim by the sword
-the Muslims dealt fairly with them as opposed to others
-so they became Muslims
-they said that the correct religion must be the one fair in dealings
-you build your honour and open many doors by being correct
-if you do otherwise you get a bad reputation and become bankrupt

The CEO of a company has to fire people on daily/weekly/monthly basis
-he can't have workers who don't perform
-they will bring the company into disrepute
-customers will take their business elsewhere
-the lacking worker must be fired
-he does things half way

If you are teacher or lecturer, do your research, before you deliver your speech
-you will not stick to the topic if you do not plan

If a mechanic, do not put Taiwanese parts in a car and say that they are from japan
-Taiwanese parts do not last as long as Japanese parts
-people will sell you fake things for original
-they will put copies of the original and charge you for original

It was narrated from Rifaa’ah ibn Raafi’ (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (
) said: “The merchants will be raised on the Day of Resurrection as evildoers, apart from those who fear Allaah and are honest.” [Al-Tirmidhi (1210), al-Daarimi (2/247), Ibn Maajah (2146) and Ibn Hibbaan (11/276).

It is very important to do things right in life
-even making love to your wife you have to do it properly
-if you don't you have not fulfilled her conjugal rights
-foreplay is Sunnah
-selfishness is not to be in the bedroom

…So if you kill then kill well…

In the hadith: if you kill; kill well

-you can kill a Muslim but not murder him

13 OCCASIONS WHEN IT IS ALLOWED TO KILL MUSLIMS

1. APOSTASY

On the authority of Ibn Abbas (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (
) said: "If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him." [Sahih Bukhari (4/61) No. 3017, Musnad Ahmad (1/322) No. 2968, Sunan al-Nasa'i (7/104) No. 4059, Sunan Ibn Majah (3/574) No. 2535, Sunan Abu Dawud (4/126) No. 4351, Sunan Tirmidhi (4/59) No. 1458]

It is not for a believer to kill a believer except (that it be) by mistake, and whosoever kills a believer by mistake, (it is ordained that) he must set free a believing slave and a compensation (blood money, i.e Diya) be given to the deceased's family, unless they remit it. If the deceased belonged to a people at war with you and he was a believer; the freeing of a believing slave (is prescribed), and if he belonged to a people with whom you have a treaty of mutual alliance, compensation (blood money - Diya) must be paid to his family, and a believing slave must be freed. And whoso finds this (the penance of freeing a slave) beyond his means, he must fast for two consecutive months in order to seek repentance from Allāh. And Allāh is Ever All-Knowing, All Wise (An-Nisa 4:92)

And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein, and the Wrath and the Curse of Allāh are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him. (An-Nisa 4:93)

-this law can only be applied in darul Islam

Proof that every apostate is not killed: Abu Bakr did not kill all of them
-Abu Bakr didn't take them to the battlefield
-Umar did and they fought well
-they did not betray Allah and His rasul (saw)
-the heart does not remain the same
-some get married and then divorce; change of heart
-Umar set out to kill the prophet (saw) but became Muslim instead

(They say): "Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower." (Aali Imran 3:8)

2. MURDER

-a man killed a man in Saudi but the family forgave him
-they said he had to memorise the Quran while in prison
-the family can ask blood money/death/or forgive him

Narrated By 'Abdullah: Allah's Apostle said, "The blood of a Muslim who confesses that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that I am His Apostle, cannot be shed except in three cases: In Qisas for murder, a married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse and the one who reverts from Islam (apostate) and leaves the Muslims." [Al-Bukhari (6878) and Muslim (1676)]

3. ADULTERY

4. RAPE

5. SODOMY

Ibn ‘Abbas (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (
) said: “Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/57) No. 1456, Sunan Abu Dawud (4/158) No. 4462, Sunan Ibn Majah (3/594) No. 2561, Musnad Ahmad (1/300) No. 2732]

Ibn Qudamah said: "If two women engage in lesbian sexual relations, then they are guilty of zina and are cursed, because it was narrated that the Prophet (
) said: “If a woman has sexual relations with another woman, then they are both guilty of zina.” There is no hadd punishment for them because they did not have intercourse, rather it is likened to intimate relations that are less than intercourse, and they are to be subjected to a ta’zeer punishment." [Al-Mughni (9/61)]

-only kill gay in Islamic state
-lesbians only get 100 lashes
-lesbian sex is fake
-ta'zeer means you can decide the lash amount
-ta'zeer e.g. a man kisses a girl you cannot flog him 100 lashes, 10 is given

It was narrated from Abu Bardah al-Ansari that he heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say: "No one should be given more than ten lashes except in the case of one of the hadd punishments of Allah.” [Al-Bukhari (6850) and Muslim (1708)]

-based on Ibn Qudaama, you can only give 10 lashes to the lesbian

6. BESTIALITY

Narrated By Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet (
) said: "If anyone has sexual intercourse with an animal, kill him and kill it along with him." I (Ikrimah) said: I asked him (Ibn Abbas): 'What offence can be attributed to the animal?' He replied: 'I think he (the Prophet) disapproved of its flesh being eaten when such a thing had been done to it.' [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/159) No. 4464, Sunan Tirmidhi (4/56) No. 1455, Musnad Ahmad (1/269) No. 2420]

7. ARMED ROBBERY

Narrated Anas: Some people from `Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them, so Allah's Apostle (
) allowed them to go to the herd of camels (given as Zakat) and they drank their milk and urine (as medicine) but they killed the shepherd and drove away all the camels. So Allah's Apostle sent (men) in their pursuit to catch them, and they were brought, and he had their hands and feet cut, and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron and they were left in the Harra (a stony place at Medina), till they died. [Al-Bukhari (6802) and Muslim (1671)]

8. SPYING

9. DRUG SMUGGLING

The recompense of those who wage war against Allāh and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter. (Al-Ma'idah 5:33)

10. CONSPIRATOR

Ibn Umar narrated: 'Umar Ibn al-Khattab (RA) killed seven people because they had collaborated in killing one man. (People questioned Umar why he did this) and he answered: "Had all the people of Sana'a (Yemen) conspired to kill a Muslim, I would have killed them all."' [Sunan al-Kubra al-Bayhaqi (8/73-74) No. 15975, Muwatta Imam Malik (2/871) No. 13, Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah (5/429) No. 27695]

11. INCEST

-you kill both

Narrated By Al-Bara' ibn Azib: I met my uncle who was carrying a standard. I asked him: 'Where are you going?' He said: 'The Apostle of Allah (
) has sent me to a man who has married his father's wife. He has ordered me to cut off his head and take his property.' [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/157) No. 4457, Sunan al-Nasa'i (6/109) No. 3332, Sunan al-Darime (2/205) No. 2239, Musnad Ahmad (4/290) No. 18580]

Ibn Abbas reported that the Holy Prophet (
) said, “Any man who commits the crime of incest must be put to death and any man who cohabits with an animal both him and the animal must be put to death”. (Sunnan Ibn Majah No.2564 also Naylul Awthaar Vol. 7 pg.118)

12. PAEDOPHILIA

-when they cause death or sodomised the child
-the one who is close to the child/ paedophile and incest
-you have to interview the child
-if he goes to bed with a girl who is not menstruating
-he is a paedophile

13. HABITUAL DRINKER

Narrated Mu'awiyah ibn Abu Sufyan: The Prophet (
) said: If they (the people) drink wine, flog them, again if they drink it, flog them. Again if they drink it, kill them. [Musnad Ahmad (4/96) No. 16915, Sunan Abu Dawud (4/165) No. 4485, Sunan Ibn Majah (3/604) No. 2573, Sunan Tirmidhi (4/48) No. 1444, al-Sunan al-Kubra al-Nasa'i (5/142) No. 5280]

-laa qawada illa bis saif (kill them with a sword)
-there is no execution without a sword
-this is a weak hadith

لا قود إلا بالسيف [Daraqutni, Bayhaqi]

There is no execution except by the sword. [Daraqutni, Bayhaqi]

-you can throw someone from a height for execution
-the sahabah killed gays by throwing them from heights
-you can take them in a helicopter and throw them out

There is a difference of opinion concerning the punishment for the one who commits sodomy. The following are the opinions that were mentioned by Imam Ash-Shawkani in "Nayl Al-Awtar" , Vol. 7/p122-124.
1) That he is killed with the sword, then burnt. This is narrated from Abu Bakr and 'Ali Ibn Abi Talib.
2) That a wall should be collapsed upon him. This was the opinion of 'Umar and 'Uthman.
3) That he should be thrown from the highest building in the city, then that should be followed up with him being pelted with rocks. This was the opinion of Ibn 'Abbas.
4) That he is stoned. This is narrated by Al-Bayhaqi from 'Ali Ibn Abi Talib, Ash-Sha'bi, Az-Zuhri, Malik, Ahmad, Is'haq, and Ash-Shafi'i.
5) That they are burned. This was narrated by Al-Bayhaqi, that Abu Bakr gathered the Sahabah and 'Ali mentioned this, and the Sahabah agreed upon it. It was also mentioned by Al-Munthiri that it was done by Abu Bakr, 'Ali, 'Abdullah Ibn Az-Zubayr, and Hisham Ibn 'Abdil-Malik.
6) That he is stoned, then burnt with fire. This is narrated from the Sahabah agreeing upon it in the time of Abu Bakr.

7) That the punishment is the same as Zina, in that if he is a virgin, he is whipped, and if he is not, then he is stoned.

8) That there is no prescribed punishment, rather it is left up to the Imam to perform Ta'zir, and this was narrated from Abu Hanifah, and one narration from Ash-Shafi'i, and others.
Ash-Shawkani refutes the opinion of the punishment being the same as Zina, as well as the opinion that there is only Ta'zir, and supports the opinion that he is killed, but does not appear to specify which way of killing is the strongest.

-Shiites were killed by Ali with fire

…and if you slaughter, then slaughter well. Let each one of you sharpen his blade and let him spare suffering to the animal he slaughters." [It was related by Muslim]

When you slaughter an animal, do it well

-the Prophet (
) said make sure the knife is sharp
-do not kill one animal in front of another
-you face the ka’ba when you slaughter

The slaughter must be done by Muslims, Christians or Jews- Maliki madhab
-Hanafi and Hanbali say it has to be done by Muslims only
-they make pronunciation of ‘Bismillah’ a condition for the meat to be halal

In Ugandan constitution only Muslims can run slaughterhouses
-Maliki’s say that “Bismillah is not a condition
-you say ‘Bismillah’ before you eat it if ‘Bismillah’ was not said over it
-shaikh’s university prefer the opinion of the Hanbalis and Hanafis
-the Malikis say the prophet used to eat meat of Jews and Christians
-and they don't say Bismillah over it

For the meat to be halal the knife should be sharp
-he should face the ka’ba and say Bismillah

Made lawful to you this day are At¬Tayyibât [all kinds of Halâl (lawful) foods, which Allâh has made lawful (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, etc., milk products, fats, vegetables and fruits, etc.). The food (slaughtered cattle, eatable animals, etc.) of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) is lawful to you and yours is lawful to them..... (Al-Ma'idah 5:5)

Some have Bismillah written on the wall
-this is not halal meat
-some slaughter 1000 chickens by machine
-if the operator says Bismillah before he switches
-the ulama of Saudi say that the meat is halal

When you stun chickens, the meat is not halal
-stunned sheep and cow according to the scholars is halal
-because the animal is not feeble like the chicken
-if the voltage was low and they did not die
-the meat is halal

Buddhist and Sikh meat is haraam
-you are a kafir if you eat that meat

Eat not (O believers) of that (meat) on which Allâh's Name has not been pronounced (at the time of the slaughtering of the animal), for sure it is Fisq (a sin and disobedience of Allâh). And certainly, the Shayâtin (devils) do inspire their friends (from mankind) to dispute with you, and if you obey them [by making Al¬Maytatah (a dead animal) legal by eating it], then you would indeed be Mushrikûn (polytheists) [because they (devils and their friends) made lawful to you to eat that which Allâh has made unlawful to eat and you obeyed them by considering it lawful to eat, and by doing so you worshipped them, and to worship others besides Allâh is polytheism]. (Al-An'am 6:121)

-you are not allowed to eat the slaughter for Christmas
-Christmas is a pagan holiday
-saying happy New Year is not shirk
-saying merry Christmas makes you a kaffir
-new Year’s dinner is not shirk

SHARH OF THE 40 HADEETH OF IMAM AN NAWAWI: HADEETH NUMBER 16

 بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

SHARH OF THE 40 HADEETH OF HADEETH NUMBER 16

30-10-2012 (Night Dars)

HADITH NUMBER 16:

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA): A man said to the Prophet (
), "Counsel me," so he () said, "Do not become angry." The man repeated [his request for counsel] several times, and [each time] he () said, "Do not become angry." It was related by al-Bukhari.

WHAT IS ANGER?

A human emotion depicting fury and rage

-if someone has anger management problem you should avoid him
-a person becomes angry because things didn't go as expected
-traffic jam is an example
-people get angry because they are disappointed
-if you are humiliated or disrespected by your wife you will be angry
-people become angry because their livelihood is threatened or taken away

And those who invoke not any other ilah (god) along with Allah, nor kill such life as Allah has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse and whoever does this shall receive the punishment. (Al-Furqan 25:68)

-people become angry when their religion is ridiculed and insulted
-people become angry when their land is occupied
-this took place in Afghanistan, Kashmir and Chechnya
-people become angry when you drag their honour through the gutters
-Joe Grind means the lover of the wife
-a women made a song about not leaving her lover, the husband killed both
-then when cornered he killed himself
-this was a crime of passion

Al-Mughira b. Shu'ba (RA) reported that Sa'd b. 'Ubada (RA) said: If I were to see a man with my wife, I would have struck him with the sword, and not with the flat part (side) of it. When Allah's Messenger (
) heard of that, he said: Are you surprised at Sa'd's jealousy of his honour? By Allah, I am more jealous of my honour than he, and Allah is more jealous than I. Because of His jealousy Allah has prohibited abomination, both open and secret And no person is more jealous of his honour than Allah, and no persons, is more fond of accepting an excuse than Allah, on account of which He has sent messengers, announcers of glad tidings and warners; and no one is more fond of praise than Allah on account of which Allah has promised Paradise. [Sahih Muslim, Book 9, Hadith #3572]

-in a nutshell there are six sacred things

1) Your life

2) Your wealth

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (RA) said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (
) and said: O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if a man comes wanting to take my property? He said: “Do not give him your property.” He said: What if he fights me? He said: “Fight him.” He said: What if he kills me? He said: “Then you will be a martyr.” He said: What if I kill him? He said: “He will be in Hell.” [Sahih Muslim (Vol. 1, pg. 124) No. 140]

3) Your Honour

4) Your Aql (intellect)

You become angry when the drug smugglers smuggle drugs into your country
-in Thailand and Saudi Arabia they chop off the heads of the drug smugglers

5. Your Lineage

A man is angry when he finds another man with his wife
-he kills them and himself because his lineage is being tampered with

6. Deen (Al Islam)

You become angry when a person ridicules your deen
-the incident in Libya attest to this

The rasul (
) said that if you are annoyed or pricked by a thorn then your sins are forgiven

A’isha (RA), the wife of the Prophet (
), said: The Messenger of Allah () said: “There is no calamity that befalls a Muslim but Allah expiates (sin) thereby, even a thorn that pricks him.” [Narrated by al-Bukhari (5640) and Muslim (2572)]

The difficulties and distress that the believer may suffer as a result of this waswaas may be included in the hadeeth of the Prophet (
), “No Muslim suffers tiredness, exhaustion, worry, grief, annoyance or distress, not even a thorn that pricks him, but Allaah will expiate some of his sins thereby.” (Al-Bukhaari, 2573; Muslim, 5642).

There are two types of anger:

1. Anger for no valid reason, this is blame worthy
2. Anger for the sake of Allah; this is praiseworthy

-there are many incidences in hadiths that shows that
-the rasul (
) got angry for the sake of Allah
-this anger causes your sins to be washed away

Examples:

1. One of the sahabah used to lead salah and recite long surahs

-some sahabah stayed away from the salah because they could not cope
-he (the rasul) became angry when he knew he recited long surahs

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah (
) said, "When any of you lead other people in prayer, you should make it short, for among you are there are weak, sick and old people. [One version adds: "And those who have a need to attend to."] When you pray by yourself, you can make it as long as you wish." [Al-Bukhari (703) and Muslim (467)]

2. A woman used to borrow expensive jewellery from women and refuse to return them

-the rasul ordered her hand to be cut because she was a thief
-Usaama when to intercede for her and the rasul (
) became angry

The wife of the Holy Prophet (
) said: “Usama approached the Prophet (to intercede) on behalf of a (rich) woman who had committed theft. The Holy Prophet said, ‘The people before you were destroyed because they used to inflict the legal punishments on the poor and forgive the rich. By Him in whose Hand my soul is! If Fatima (the daughter of the Prophet) did that (i.e. stole) I would cut off her hand’”. (Sahih al Bukhari Vol.8 pg.512 No.778 and No.779)

3. The rasul (
) came home and found Aisha (r.a) had put some pictures on the wall
-the angels don't enter homes where there are pictures of animals and human beings

Narrated By 'Aisha: I purchased a cushion with pictures on it. The Prophet
(came and) stood at the door but did not enter. I said (to him), "I repent to Allah for what (the guilt) I have done." He said, "What is this cushion?" I said, "It is for you to sit on and recline on." He said, "The makers of these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said to them, 'Make alive what you have created.' Moreover, the angels do not enter a house where there are pictures.'" [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 7, Book 72, Hadith #840]

-the scholars made an exceptions for toys
-because Aisha had a toy of a horse
-and the rasul (
) didn't object
-cartoons are also allowed (educational cartoons)

4. He found Umar Ibn Al Khattab (r.a) reading the Torah
-and he became angry

`Umar -- Allah be well-pleased with him -- came to the Prophet
and said: "We hear from the Jews narrations that impress us, do you think we should write down some of them?" The Prophet replied: "Are you all going to fall into the same chaos (amutahawwikun) in which fell the Jews and Christians? I brought it [the Religion] to you pristine and pure. If Musa were alive, he would have no alternative but to follow me!" Narrated from Jabir by al-Bayhaqi in Shu`ab al-Iman (1:200) and mursal from al-Hasan by al-Khatib in al-Jami` li Akhlaq al-Rawi (1991 ed. 2:228 #1531=1983 ed. 2:161) with weak chains.

5. Zubair and another sahabi had a dispute and the rasul (
) said
-that Zubair should irrigate first
-the sahabi asked whether is because he is his relative
-that is why he ruled in that manner
-the rasul became angry at that

Abu Dawud recorded that `A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said, "The Messenger of Allah came back from the campaign of Tabuk or Khaybar, and there was a curtain covering her room. The wind came and lifted the curtain, revealing some toys belonging to `A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her. The Prophet said: «
مَا هَذَا يَا عَائِشَةُ؟» (What is this, O `A'ishah) She, may Allah be pleased with her, said, "My toys.'' Among them he saw a horse with two wings made of cloth. He said: «مَا هَذَا الَّذِي أَرَى وَسَطَهُنَّ؟»

(What is this that I see in the midst of them) She, may Allah be pleased with her, said, "A horse.'' The Messenger of Allah said, «مَا هَذَا الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ؟» (And what is this on it) She, may Allah be pleased with her, said, "Wings.'' The Messenger of Allah said, «فَرَسٌ لَهُ جَنَاحَانِ؟» (A horse with two wings) She, may Allah be pleased with her, said, "Did you not hear that Sulayman, peace be upon him, had a horse that had wings'' She, may Allah be pleased with her, said, "The Messenger of Allah smiled so broadly that I could see his molars.'' [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/283) No. 4932]

We should only get angry for the sake of Allah not for our own nafs
-Ali (r.a) got spat in his face by a kaafir in the battlefield
-he didn't kill him saying if he does he will not kill him for Allah's sake
-but because of what he did (spitting in his face)

Say (O Muhammad
): "Verily, my Salāt (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allāh, the Lord of the 'Alamīn (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (Al-An'am 6:162)

Even Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ ) becomes angry (surah Fatiha)

Guide us to the Straight Way. (Al-Fatihah 1:6)

The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace , not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians). (Al-Fatihah 1:7)

-if you are not a salafi jihadi then you are among the ones gone astray
-on whom Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ ) is angry

The Saudi salafis are cursed because they cement the thrones of the apostate leaders
-calling for jihad against the mujahideen
-you should not even spit at their grave
-that is too precious
-they are the jews of the Ummah

The Jews are cursed because:

1. They slander the prophets

2. They slander Allah (3:181)

Indeed, Allāh has heard the statement of those (Jews) who say: "Truly, Allāh is poor and we are rich!" We shall record what they have said and their killing of the Prophets unjustly, and We shall say: "Taste you the torment of the burning (Fire)." (Aali Imran 3:181)

(Verily Allah heard the saying of those who said…) [3:181]. ‘Ikrimah, al-Suddi and Muqatil ibn Ishaq related that, one day, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq entered a Jewish place of study and found a group of Jewish people gathered around one of them called Finhas ibn ‘Azura, who was one of their doctors. Abu Bakr said to Finhas: “Fear Allah and embrace Islam, for by Allah you know well that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah who has brought the truth to you from Allah. He is mentioned in your Torah; so believe and accept the truth and grant Allah a goodly offering and He will make you enter the Garden and multiply your reward”. Finhas responded: “O Abu Bakr, you claim that our Lord is asking us to lend Him our wealth. Yet, it is only the poor who borrow from the rich. And if what you say is true, it follows that Allah is poor and we are rich, for if He were rich He would not ask us to lend Him our wealth”. Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may Allah be well pleased with him, became very angry and struck the face of Finhas with a mighty blow. He then said to him: “By Him in whose Hand is my soul, if it were not for the treaty between us, O enemy of Allah, I would have killed you”. Finhas went to the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, and said: “O Muhammad! Look at what your companion has done to me”. The Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and give him peace, asked Abu Bakr: “What has driven you to do what you have done?” He said: “O Messenger of Allah, this enemy of Allah has said something very serious. He claimed that Allah is poor and they are rich. I therefore got angry for the sake of Allah and hit his face”. But Finhas denied that he ever uttered those words, and so Allah, exalted is He, revealed this verse (Verily Allah heard the saying of those who said…) to give the lie to Finhas and to confirm that Abu Bakr al-Siddiq said the truth. ‘Abd al-Qahir ibn Tahir informed us> Abu ‘Amr ibn Matar> Ja‘far ibn al-Layth al-Ziyadi> Hudhayfah Musa ibn Mas‘ud> Shibl> Ibn Abi Najih> Mujahid who said: “This verse was revealed about the Jews; Abu Bakr, may Allah be well pleased with him, had struck the face of one of their men who said ‘Allah is poor and we are rich’ ”. Shibl commented: “I was informed that this man was Finhas the Jew, and it is also this man who said: (Allah’s hand is fettered) [5:64]”. [Asbab Al-Nuzul by Al-Wahidi , trans. Mokrane Guezzou]

3. They practiced black magic

They followed what the Shayātin (devils) gave out (falsely of the magic) in the lifetime of Sulaimān (Solomon). Sulaimān did not disbelieve, but the Shayātin (devils) disbelieved, teaching men magic and such things that came down at Babylon to the two angels, Hārût and Mārût, but neither of these two (angels) taught anyone (such things) till they had said, "We are only for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us)." And from these (angels) people learn that by which they cause separation between man and his wife, but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allāh's Leave. And they learn that which harms them and profits them not. And indeed they knew that the buyers of it (magic) would have no share in the Hereafter. And how bad indeed was that for which they sold their own selves, if they but knew. (Al-Baqarah 2:102)

4. They mix truth with falsehood

5. They hide knowledge

And indeed, We gave Mûsa (Moses) the Book and followed him up with a succession of Messengers. And We gave 'Iesa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), clear signs and supported him with Rûh-ul-Qudus [Jibrael (Gabriel)]. Is it that whenever there came to you a Messenger with what you yourselves desired not, you grew arrogant? Some, you disbelieved and some, you killed. (Al-Baqarah 2:87)

Another hujjah of Allah's anger is 4:93

And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein, and the Wrath and the Curse of Allāh are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him. (An-Nisa 4:93)'

Different people have different threshold for anger

-people have different reasons that anger them
-some people are quick to anger because of their environment
-they were brought up in a bad environment
-and they were abused from every angle
-and hence they are angry at everyone

...It is said that he (
) mentioned anger, saying, "Some are swift to anger and swift to cool down, the one characteristic making up for the other; some are slow to anger and slow to cool down, the one characteristic making up for the other; but the best of you are those who are slow to anger and swift to cool down, and the worst of you are those who are swift to anger and slow to cool down." He continued, "Beware of anger, for it is a live coal on the heart of the descendant of Adam. Do you not notice the swelling of the veins of his neck and the redness of his eyes? So when anyone experiences anything of that nature he should lie down and cleave to the earth." Hadith - Al-Tirmidhi #5145, Narrated Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, transmitted by Tirmidhi

UK DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FACTS - 2 WOMEN KILLED EACH WEEK: Click

Some people are prone to anger because of the drugs they take
-the smokers are prone to anger

Do a character check on the man proposing to you before you accept
-you should not marry a man with a short fuse
-some of these are from dysfunctional and broken homes

REASONS WHY PEOPLE BECOME ANGRY

1. THEY WERE ANNOYED, PROVOKED OR TEASED

-this is why Allah told you not to ridicule people
-you might tease a man with a short fuse and he'll be the last man you tease
-because he'll kill you

O you who believe! Let not a group scoff at another group, it may be that the latter are better than the former; nor let (some) women scoff at other women, it may be that the latter are better than the former, nor defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. How bad is it, to insult one's brother after having Faith [i.e. to call your Muslim brother (a faithful believer) as: "O sinner", or "O wicked", etc.]. And whosoever does not repent, then such are indeed Zālimûn (wrong-doers, etc.). (Al-Hujurat 49:11)

2. THEY SUFFERED ABUSE IN THEIR LIFE

-physical, financial, sexual abuse

Abu Huraira narrated the Prophet (
) said: “The one who gets married with the intention not to pay dowry to his wife is a fornicator. And the one who borrows money with the intention not to pay back is a thief.” [Ibn Hibban in ‘al-Majruheen’ (2/261) No. 941]

Suhaib al-Khair narrated the Messenger of Allah (
) said: "Any man who takes out a loan, having resolved not to pay it back, will meet Allah as a thief." [Sunan Ibn Majah (3/486) No. 2410]

3. THEY WERE DISAPPOINTED

Narrated By Ibn Abbas: The Prophet
sent Mu'adh to Yemen and said, "Fear the supplication of the oppressed, for there is no barrier between it and Allah." [Al-Bukhari (1496) and Muslim (19)]

4. THEY WERE OPPRESSED

-the Rohingha Muslims are being oppressed
-the rubbish organization (UN) said nothing about it

Verily, those who have turned back (have apostated) as disbelievers after the guidance has been manifested to them, Shaitān (Satan) has beautified for them (their false hopes), and (Allāh) prolonged their term (age). (Muhammad 47:25) This is because they said to those who hate what Allāh has sent down: "We will obey you in part of the matter," but Allāh knows their secrets. (Muhammad 47:26)

5. GENETIC BUILD UP

-sometimes is because of the genes
-jinn are quicker to anger than humans
-because they were created from fire

Atiyyah as-Sa'di reported the Messenger of Allah (
) said: "Anger comes from the devil, the devil was created of fire, and fire is extinguished only with water; so when one of you becomes angry, he should perform ablution. [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/249) No. 4784 and Musnad Ahmad (4/226) No. 18014]

-the White man and the Blackman are different
-the White man covers his tracks but the Blackman doesn't

Those who spend [in Allāh's Cause - deeds of charity, alms, etc.] in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allāh loves Al-Muhsinûn (the good doers). (Aali Imran 3:134)

ANGER MANAGEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Sahl ibn Mu’adh ibn Anas from his father reported that the Prophet (
) said, “As for him who suppresses his anger while he is able to express (and impose) it, Allah will call him on the Day of Resurrection ahead of all the creatures and give him the choice of any of the maidens of paradise he likes.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/656) No. 2493, Sunan Abu Dawud (4/248) No. 4777, Sunan Ibn Majah (5/280) No. 4186, Musnad Ahmad (3/440) No. 15675]

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (
) as saying: "The strong-man is not one who wrestles well but the strong man is one who controls himself when he is in a fit of rage." [Al-Bukhari (6114) and Muslim (2609)]

1. Find out what triggers your anger and avoid those places and people

2. Find out what food and drink triggers your anger and avoid them

3. Go for counselling with your local shaikh or imam

4. Be in the company of those people who love and appreciate and respect you

5. Be among the Tulab al ilm (the students) and the scholars

6. Seek refuge from shaytan

Narrated By Sulaiman bin Surd: While I was sitting in the company of the Prophet
, two men abused each other and the face of one of them became red with anger, and his jugular veins swelled (i.e. he became furious). On that the Prophet said, "I know a word, the saying of which will cause him to relax, if he does say it. If he says: 'I seek Refuge with Allah from Satan.' then all is anger will go away."... [Sahih Bukhari (4/124) No. 3282]

7. When you are angry keep silent

-you might say something that you will regret

Ibn 'Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah (
) said, "Teach and make things easy and not difficult. When one of you is angry, he should be silent." [al-Adab al-Mufrad al-Bukhari No. 245, Musnad Ahmad (1/239) No. 2136, Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah (5/216) No. 25379]

8. Either sit or lie down

Abu Dharr narrated the Messenger of Allah (
) said: "If any of you becomes angry and he is standing, let him sit down, so his anger will go away; if it does not go away, let him lie down." [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/249) No. 4782, Musnad Ahmad (5/152) No. 21386, Sahih Ibn Hibban (12/501) No. 5688, Shu'ab al-Eman al-Bayhaqi (10/526) No. 7932]

9. Listen to the advice of the righteous
-this was what Umar (r.a) did
-when he heard the ayah he calmed down
-Umar got angry and Al Hurr Bin Qass advised him using 7:199

Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the foolish (i.e. don't punish them). (Al-A'raf 7:199)

Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) reported that a man sought permission to speak to ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab (may Allaah be pleased with him), then he said: "O son of al-Khattaab, you are not giving us much and you are not judging fairly between us." ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) was so angry that he was about to attack the man, but al-Hurr ibn Qays, who was one of those present, said: "O Ameer al-Mu’mineen, Allaah said to His Prophet (
) (interpretation of the meaning): ‘Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the foolish’ [al-A’raaf 7:199]. This man is one of the foolish." By Allaah, ‘Umar could go no further after al-Hurr had recited this aayah to him, and he was a man who was careful to adhere to the Book of Allaah. (Reported by al-Bukhaari, al-Fath, 4/304).

10. Make wudu

-when you are angry your eyes are red
-and you are hot
-anger is from shaytan and he was created from fire
-so wudu helps put off the anger

Atiyyah as-Sa'di reported the Messenger of Allah (
) said: "Anger comes from the devil, the devil was created of fire, and fire is extinguished only with water; so when one of you becomes angry, he should perform ablution. [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/249) No. 4784 and Musnad Ahmad (4/226) No. 18014]

11. Make dhikr

-Keep making dhikr until you cool down

….and the remembering (praising, etc.) of (you by) Allāh (in front of the angels) is greater indeed [than your remembering (praising, etc.) Allāh in prayers, etc.]. And Allāh knows what you do. (Al-'Ankabut 29:45)

12. Make a dua

13. Leave the environment that makes you become angry

-if you are married and you get angry from it often
-you should get away from it (divorce)

The man who killed 100 people had to leave his environment to make taubah

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported Allah's Messenger (
) as saying: There was a person before you who had killed ninety-nine persons and then made an inquiry about the learned persons of the world (who could show him the way to salvation). He was directed to a monk. He came to him and told him that he had killed ninety-nine persons and asked him whether there was any scope for his repentance to be accepted. He said: No. He killed him also and thus completed one hundred. He then asked about the learned persons of the earth and he was directed to a scholar, and he told him that he had killed one hundred persons and asked him whether there was any scope for his repentance to be accepted. He said: Yes; what stands between you and the repentance? You better go to such and such land; there are people devoted to prayer and worship and you also worship along with them and do not come to the land of yours since it was an evil land (for you). So he went away and he had hardly covered half the distance when death came to him and there was a dispute between the angels of mercy and the angels of punishment. The angels of mercy said: This man has come as a penitent and remorseful to Allah and the angels of punishment said: He has done no good at all. Then there came another angel in the form of a human being in order to decide between them. He said: You measure the land to which he has drawn near. They measured it and found him nearer to the land where he intended to go (the land of piety), and so the angels of mercy took possession of it. Qatada said that Hasan told him that it was said to them that as death approached him, he crawled upon his chest (and managed) to slip in the land of mercy. [Sahih Muslim, Book 37, Hadith #6662]
