SHARH OF THE 40 HADEETH OF NUMBER 15
28-10-2012 (Night Dars)
HADEETH NUMBER 15:
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA), that the
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Let him who believes in Allah and the Last
Day speak good, or keep silent; and let him who believes in Allah and the Last
Day be generous to his neighbour; and let him who believes in Allah and the
Last Day be generous to his guest. [It was related by al-Bukhari and Muslim.]
The sharh for this hadith will be very long
-because there are 3 topics in this hadith
-and you can write a book on each topic
The rasul (ﷺ) touched on three issues in the hadith:
1. The bad consequences of the tongue
2. The excellences of looking at your neighbour
3. The virtue of looking after your guests
One of the bad consequences of the tongue is to be deceived with regards the
hereafter
-the wicked scholars deceive you through speech
-they are the worst con artist
Abu Dhar said, "I was with the Prophet (ﷺ)
one day and I heard him saying: "There is something I fear for my Ummah
than the Dajjal." It was then that I became afraid, so I said: "Oh
Rasool Allah! Which thing is that?" He (ﷺ) said; "Misguided and astray scholars."
[Musnad Ahmad (5/145) No. 21334 and 21335]
-these people have a silver tongue
-they make the baatil look like the truth
Narrated Ibn 'Umar: 'Two men came from the East
and addressed the people who wondered at their eloquent speeches. On that the
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Some eloquent speech is as effective
as magic."' [Sahih Bukhari (7/19) No. 5146]
Anas ibn Malik (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
said, ‘The time of the Dajjal will be years of confusion. People will believe a
liar, and disbelieve one who tells the truth. People will distrust one who is
trustworthy, and trust one who is treacherous; and the Ruwaybidah will have a
say.’ Someone asked, ‘Who are the Ruwaybidah?’ He said, ‘Those who rebel
against Allah and will have a say in general affairs.’” [Musnad Ahmad (3/220)
No. 13322]
Many wars started because of the bad consequence of the tongue
-the Iraq war is an example of this
In 2005 a huge war took place between the Asian and the Black community
-a Black girl did something inappropriate in an Indian shop
-and the shopkeeper handled her
-she told the black community that she was a victim of attempted rape
The tongue of a woman is very dangerous
Narrated By Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet ﷺ said: "I was shown the Hell-fire
and that the majority of its dwellers were women who were ungrateful." It
was asked, "Do they disbelieve in Allah?" (or are they ungrateful to
Allah?) He replied, "They are ungrateful to their husbands and are
ungrateful for the favours and the good (charitable deeds) done to them. If you
have always been good (benevolent) to one of them and then she sees something
in you (not of her liking), she will say, 'I have never received any good from
you." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 1, Book 2, Hadith #028]
-the Prophet (ﷺ) said the women curse too much
The tongue and the private parts are linked
Narrated By Sahl bin Sa'd: Allah's Apostle ﷺ
said, "Whoever can guarantee (the chastity of) what is between his two
jaw-bones and what is between his two legs (i.e. his tongue and his private
parts), I guarantee Paradise for him." [Sahih Bukhari (8/100) No. 6474]
"O womenfolk, you should give charity and ask much forgiveness for I saw
you in bulk amongst the dwellers of Hell. A wise lady among them said: Why is
it, Messenger of Allah, that our folk is in bulk in Hell? Upon this the Holy
Prophet ﷺ observed: You curse too much and are ungrateful to
your spouses. I have seen none lacking in common sense and failing in religion
but (at the same time) robbing the wisdom of the wise, besides you. Upon this
the woman remarked: What is wrong with our common sense and with religion? He
(the Holy Prophet) observed: Your lack of common sense (can be well judged from
the fact) that the evidence of two women is equal to one man that is a proof of
the lack of common sense." Saheeh Muslim
"The head of the matter is Islam, its pillar
is the prayer and its peak is jihad." Then he (ﷺ)
said, "Shall I not tell you of the foundation of all of that?" I said,
"Yes, O Messenger of Allah." So he took hold of his tongue and said,
"Restrain this." I said, "O Prophet of Allah, will we be taken
to account for what we say with it?" He (ﷺ) said, "May your mother be bereaved of you, O
Muadh! Is there anything that throws people into the Hellfire upon their faces
— or: on their noses — except the harvests of their tongues?" [Sunan
Tirmidhi (5/11) No. 2616, Sunan Ibn Majah (5/116) No. 3973, Musnad Ahmad
(5/231) No. 22069]
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
On the authority of 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin
Al-'As (RA) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "A Muslim is the one from whose tongue
and hands the Muslims are safe; and a Muhajir (Emigrant) is the one who
refrains from what Allah has forbidden." [Al-Bukhari (10) and Muslim (40)]
Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ said:
O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion, indeed
some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one
of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate
backbiting). And fear Allāh. Verily, Allāh is the One Who accepts repentance,
Most Merciful. (Al-Hujurat 49:12)
Why did Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ arrange the sins in this manner?
1. SUSPICION
2. SPYING
3. BACKBITING
We are not allowed to be suspicious without a base
-and we are not allowed to spy on each other
Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ said:
Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is
a watcher by him ready (to record it). (Qaf 50:18)
It has been reported that a man was brought before
Abdullah bin Mas'ud (RA) because his beard was giving out smell of wine. Ibn
Mas'ud said: "We have been prohibited from spying (on Muslims) and finding
faults (with them). But if something is clear to us, then we punish for
it." [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/272-273) No. 4890]
-there are angels that write down whatever you say or do
-and this will be held for or against you on judgement day
Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. (1) Who has gathered wealth and counted it, (2) He
thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! (3) Nay! Verily, he
will be thrown into the crushing Fire. (4) (Al-Humuzah 104:1-4)
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
-the tale bearer will never enter paradise
It is reported from Hudhaifa that news reached
him (the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) that a certain man carried tales. Upon this
Hudhaifa remarked: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying: "The tale-bearer shall not enter
Paradise." [Al-Bukhari (6056) and Muslim (189)]
Narrated By Ibn Abbas: The Prophet once passed by two graves, and those two
persons (in the graves) were being tortured. He said, "They are being
tortured not for a great thing (to avoid). One of them never saved himself from
being soiled with his urine, while the other was going about with calumnies (to
make enmity between friends). He then took a green leaf of a date-palm tree
split it into two pieces and fixed one on each grave. The people said, "O
Allah's Apostle! Why have you done so?" He replied, "I hope that
their punishment may be lessened till they (the leaf) become dry." [Sahih
Bukhari, Vol 2, Book 23, Hadith #443]
The Prophet (ﷺ) was blessed with many miracles
-and one of them took place in Ramadan
Ubaid, the freed slave of the Prophet (ﷺ),
reported “Two women were once fasting during the lifetime of Allah’s Messenger
and they almost died of thirst. This was mentioned to the Prophet (ﷺ)
but he turned away from (allowing) them (to break the fast). Then they were
mentioned to him again, so he called for them and ordered them to vomit, i.e.
throw up, what was in their stomachs. So they both vomited and filled up a bowl
with puss, blood and pieces of flesh. Then the Prophet (ﷺ)
said: ‘These two fasted by refraining from what Allah made lawful for them. but
they broke their fast by doing what Allah made unlawful for them. One of them
sat with the other and they began to eat from the flesh of people.’” [Musnad
Ahmad (5/431) No. 23703]
-the honour is sacred
Narrated By Uqbah ibn Amir: The Prophet (ﷺ)
said: "He who sees something which should be kept hidden and conceals it
will be like one who has brought to life a girl buried alive." [Abu Dawood
(4/273, No. 4891), al-Hakim (4/426, No. 8162), al-Bayhaqi (8/331, No. 17387),
Sunan Kubra Nasa'i (4/307, No. 7281), At-Tabarani (17/319, No. 883)]
Asma' Bint Yazid narrated the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever defends the honour of his
brother in absence has the right over Allah to be freed from the Fire."
[Musnad Ahmad (6/461) No. 27650, al-Mu’jam al-Kabir al-Tabarani (24/176) No.
443, Musnad Abu Dawud at-Tayalisi (3/201) No. 1737]
-this is why the kuffaar like to dishonour the believers
-they even try to dishonour the Prophet (ﷺ) with cartoons
-but this will backfire on their faces
THE CRIMES OF THE TONGUE
1. BACK BITING
-this is to speak bad about someone behind his back even though what you said
is true
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)
as saying: Do you know what is backbiting? They (the Companions) said: Allah
and His Messenger know best. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Backbiting
implies your talking about your brother in a manner which he does not like. It
was said to him: What is your opinion about this that if I actually find (that
failing) in my brother which I made a mention of? He said: If (that failing) is
actually found (in him) what you assert, you in fact backbited him, and if that
is not in him it is a slander. [Sahih Muslim (4/2001) No. 2589, Sunan Abu Dawud
(4/269) No. 4874, Sunan Tirmidhi (4/329) No. 1934, Musnad Ahmad (2/384) No.
8973]
2. SLANDERING
-this is to speak bad about someone behind his back but what you said was a lie
-therefore it is worse than back biting
3. TALE BEARING
-this is to carry news between people for them to hate each other
Narrated By Ibn Abbas: The Prophet ﷺ once passed by two graves, and those
two persons (in the graves) were being tortured.
4. TO BEAR FALSE WITNESS
-if 4 people conspire and said they saw a man committing zina but it was a lie
-and the Amir killed the man but later found out it was a lie
-the four witnesses have to be killed
Ibn Umar narrated: 'Umar Ibn al-Khattab (RA)
killed seven people because they had collaborated in killing one man. (People
questioned Umar why he did this) and he answered: "Had all the people of
Sana'a (Yemen) conspired to kill a Muslim, I would have killed them all."'
[Sunan al-Kubra al-Bayhaqi (8/73-74) No. 15975, Muwatta Imam Malik (2/871) No.
13, Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah (5/429) No. 27695]
5. INDECENT PROPOSALS
-this is when you propose to a woman still married, engaged or in iddah
-this is a blameworthy proposal
-the woman in iddah is still married to the husband
-so you are not allowed to propose to her
Proposing zina is also indecent
6. TO PREACH KUFR
7. TO PREACH SHIRK
-e.g. the Christian priest
-when they preach Jesus as being their personal lord and savior
-and they are very emotional; this is why majority of them are women
-because women are very emotional
8. BLACKMAIL
-‘I have your secret and if you don’t do what i want i will reveal it'
-if you blackmail people they will kill you
-this has happened many times in the past
9. TO QUOTE FABRICATED HADITH
-to lie on the Prophet (ﷺ) make you a kaafir
-also rejecting his Prophet hood and insulting and ridiculing him make you a
kaafir
Narrated By Anas: The fact which stops me from
narrating a great number of Hadiths to you is that the Prophet ﷺ
said: "Whoever tells a lie against me intentionally, then (surely) let him
occupy his seat in Hell-fire." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 1, Book 3, Hadith #108]
10. TEASING AND RIDICULING
-with offensive nick names
-you are not allowed to do this
-because Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ told you not to
-you take away people's honour by doing this
O you who believe! Let not a group scoff at another
group, it may be that the latter are better than the former; nor let (some)
women scoff at other women, it may be that the latter are better than the
former, nor defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames..
(Al-Hujurat 49:11)
11. BLASHPHEMY
-this is to ridicule holy things
-Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ , His messenger and the holy Qur'an
-if you insult any of these your head is gone
-even if you make tawbah
-we say your tawbah is between you and Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ
Hussain ibn Ali related from his father Ali Ibn
Abi Talib that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever curses a Prophet, kill him.
Whoever curses my Companions, beat him." [al-Mu’jam al-Awsat al-Tabarani
(5/35) No. 4602]
The only time the Qaadi can exercise leniency is if you hand yourself over and
make tawbah
12. DECEPTION
-to sell people fake things and say it was made in Japan when it was made in
China
-sometimes you even say wallahi
Abu Hurayra (RA) reported that the Messenger of
Allah (ﷺ), said, "Anyone who carries arms against us
is not one of us. Anyone who cheats us is not one of us." [Sahih Muslim,
Book 1, Hadith #182]
The Muslims who like to deceive say wallahi and lie
-because they know Muslims will believe when they hear wallahi
-but Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ told us:
They have made their oaths a screen (for their
hypocrisy). Thus they hinder (men) from the Path of Allāh. Verily, evil is what
they used to do. (Al-Munafiqun 63:2)
13. CHARACTER ASSASSINATION
-a person can take the photograph of somebody
-and put in another and say we caught him with prostitutes
-you can’t take photographs as witnesses
14. CURSING AND SWEARING AND USING F WORDS
-it is Un-Islamic for you to swear
-even though in the UK people don’t take you serious if you don’t swear
-Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ said:
Allāh does not like that the evil should be
uttered in public except by him who has been wronged. And Allāh is Ever
All¬Hearer, All¬Knower. (An-Nisa 4:148)
-a man who swears because he was oppressed is understandable
15. TO SPREAD DISINFORMATION
-what is its difference with misinformation?
-the latter is a slip of the tongue (misinformation)
-but the former is when you deliberately set out to mislead the public with a
pack of lies
-and you know you are lying to the people
It was narrated that Abu Shurayh al-‘Adawi said: I
heard with my own two ears and I saw with my own two eyes when the Prophet (ﷺ)
spoke and said: “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honour his
neighbour; whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honour his guest
as he is entitled.” It was said, ‘What is his entitlement, O Messenger of
Allah?” He said, “[The best treatment] for one day and one night; and
hospitality is for three days, and anything after that is charity bestowed upon
him. And whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him, speak good words
or else remain silent.” [Sahih Bukhari (8/11) No. 6019]
There is no back biting in regards to the following:
1. A WICKED SCHOLAR
2. MARRAIGE
3. HUKM FROM A SHAIKH
4. WHEN A PERSON IS OPPRESSED
-E.G. you work for a man and he did not pay you
5. WHEN YOU WANT TO SET UP A BUSINESS
-you should seek advice on someone wanting to open business with you
-because your wealth is sacred
THE RIGHTS OF THE NEIGHBOUR
The angel Gabriel (a.s) came to the rasul (ﷺ) and told him about his neighbour
-to the extent that the rasul (ﷺ) thought that
-he will tell him that his neighbour will inherit from him
On the authority of Ibn Umar that the Messenger
of Allah (ﷺ) said "Jibreel kept recommending treating
neighbours with kindness until I thought he would assign a share of
inheritance." [Al-Bukhari (6015) and Muslim (2625)]
-the rasul slaughtered an animal and gave to his Jewish neighbour
Mujahid reported that a sheep was slaughtered
for 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr. He asked his slave, 'Have you given any to our Jewish
neighbour? Have you given any to our Jewish neighbour? I heard the Messenger of
Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'Jibril kept on
recommending that I treat my neighbours well until I thought that he would
order me to treat them as my heirs.' [Al-Adab al-Mufrad, Hadith #105]
Al-Miqdad ibn al-Aswad reported that the Messenger
of Allah (ﷺ), asked his Companions about fornication and they
said, "It is unlawful. Allah and His Messenger have made it
unlawful." He said, "It is less serious for a man to fornicate with
ten women than for him to fornicate with his neighbour's wife." Then he
asked them about stealing. They replied, "It is unlawful. Allah and His Messenger
have made it unlawful." He said, "It is less serious for a man to
steal from ten houses than it is for him to steal from his neighbour's
house." [Al-Adab al-Mufrad al-Bukhari, No. 103, Musnad Ahmad (6/8) No.
23905 and al-Mu’jam al-Kabir al-Tabarani (20/256) No. 605
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "By Allah, he is not a believer! By
Allah, he is not a believer! By Allah, he is not a believer." It was
asked, "Who is that, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "One whose
neighbour does not feel safe from his evil." [Al-Bukhari (6016) and Muslim
(46)] Another narration of Muslim is: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
said, "He will not enter Jannah whose neighbour is not secure from his
wrongful conduct".
-zina is haram in Islam but worse if done with your neighbour’s wife
We always make dua for Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ to grant us the good of the dunya
..."Our Lord! Give us in this world that
which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the
torment of the Fire!" (Al-Baqarah 2:201)
-a good neighbour is one of the good things of the dunya
It was narrated that Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “There are four things that are essential
for happiness: a righteous wife, a spacious home, a good neighbour and a sound
means of transportation. And there are four things that make one miserable: a
bad neighbour, a bad wife, a small house and a bad means of transportation.”
[Narrated by Ibn Hibban in al-Saheehah (Vol. 9, pg.340) No. 4032]
Luqman to his son, he said: “My son! I have carried
grass-hoppers and cast-iron but I have never seen anything heavier (to bear)
than a bad neighbour, and I have tasted all the bitterness, but I have never
tasted anything more bitter than poverty.” [Ibn Abi Shaybah in 'Musannaf'
(7/74) No. 34296 and al-Bayhaqi in 'Shu'ab al-Eman' (12/101) No. 9108]
Narrated By 'Aisha: The Prophet ﷺ
used to seek refuge with Allah (by saying), "O Allah! I seek refuge with
You from the affliction of the Fire and from the punishment in the Fire, and
seek refuge with You from the affliction of the grave, and I seek refuge with
You from the affliction of wealth, and I seek refuge with You from the
affliction of poverty, and seek refuge with You from the affliction of Al-Masih
Ad-Dajjal" [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 8, Book 75, Hadith #387]
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "By Allah, he is not a believer! By
Allah, he is not a believer! By Allah, he is not a believer." It was
asked, "Who is that, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "One whose
neighbour does not feel safe from his evil." [Al-Bukhari (6016) and Muslim
(46)] Another narration of Muslim is: Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "He
will not enter Jannah whose neighbour is not secure from his wrongful
conduct".
On the authority of 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As
(RA) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "A Muslim is the one from whose tongue
and hands the Muslims are safe; and a Muhajir (Emigrant) is the one who
refrains from what Allah has forbidden." [al-Bukhari (10) and Muslim (40)]
1. YOUR NEIGHBOUR SHOULD FEEL SAFE FROM YOUR TYRANNY AND OPPRESSION
THE 3 TYPES OF NEIGHBOURS
1. The kaafir neighbour
-has one right over you
-the right of the neighbour
2. The Muslim neighbour
-has two rights over you
-Muslim brotherhood and neighbour’s right
3. The Muslim neighbour who is your relative
-has three rights over you
-family ties, Islam and neighbour
2. YOU SHOULD INVITE YOUR KAAFIR NEIGHBOUR TO ISLAM IF THEY SHOW INTEREST
-if he is a Muslim who is jaahil then teach him Islam
Therefore remind (men) in case the reminder
profits (them). (Al-A'la 87:9)
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah
(ﷺ) said, "He who is asked about knowledge (of
religion) and conceals it, will be bridled with a bridle of fire on the Day of
Resurrection." [Sunan Abu Dawud (3/321) No. 3658, Sunan Tirmidhi (5/29)
No. 2649, Sunan Ibn Majah (1/178) No. 266, Musnad Ahmad (2/263) No. 7561]
-you are supposed to learn from him if he is a shaikh
3. IF HE INVITES YOU TO HIS PARTY, YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO GO
Ibn Umar (RA) said: "The Messenger of Allah
ﷺ said: When anyone of you invites his brother, let
him respond, whether it is for a wedding or for any other reason." [Sahih
Muslim (2/1052) No. 1429]
-if the party has munkar (music, alcohol, etc.) you should not go
Ibn Qudaamah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said
in al-Mughni (7/214): If a person is invited to a wedding feast in which evil
things will take place, such as wine, musical instruments, etc, and he is able
to attend and remove those evils, then he must attend and denounce them,
because then he will be fulfilling two duties: accepting the invitation of his
Muslim brother and removing evil. But if he is not able to denounce them then
he should not attend. If he does not know about the evils until he gets there,
he should remove them. If he cannot, then he should go away. Something similar
was stated by al-Shaafa’i.
4. YOU SHOULD BUY YOUR NEIGHBORS GIFTS ON CERTAIN OCCASIONS
5. YOU SHOULD FEEL HAPPY WITH THE HAPPINESS OF YOUR NEIGHBOUR
-and you should be sad with the sadness of your neighbour
-so you should not rejoice over his downfall
-for the sake of neighbourliness
6. YOU SHOULD GUARD HIS HONOUR, WEALTH, ETC.
-you do not kill him (his blood)
-you do not steal from him (his wealth)
-you do not get his wife, daughter pregnant (lineage)
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ)
said, "By Allah, he is not a believer! By Allah, he is not a believer! By
Allah, he is not a believer." It was asked, "Who is that, O Messenger
of Allah?" He said, "One whose neighbour does not feel safe from his
evil." [Al-Bukhari (6016) and Muslim (46)] Another narration of Muslim is:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "He will not enter Jannah whose
neighbour is not secure from his wrongful conduct".
7. YOU SHOULD APOLOGIZE TO HIM IF YOU OFFEND HIM
8. YOU SHOULD NOT STOP HIM FROM EATING FROM FRUITS THAT WENT OVER TO HIS
WALL
9. YOU SHOULD INTERCEDE FOR HIM IF YOU CAN
-Abu Hanifa did this for his alcoholic neighbour
-on condition that he will stop drinking alcohol
THE RIGHTS OF THE GUEST
1. THE HOST SHOULD PROVIDE FOOD AND DRINK FOR HIS GUESTS
-we are followers of millat Ibrahim
-he slaughtered a lamb for his guests
-the kuffaar don't invite people to eat when they are eating
-Christianity doesn't teach adaab
-a country with Islamic heritage looks after their guests
And they give food, inspite of their love for it
(or for the love of Him), to Miskin (poor), the orphan, and the captive,
(Al-Insan 76:8)
2. MAKE THEM COMFORTABLE AND PROVIDE THEM WITH PRAYING MAT
-you should also show them the Qibla
3. PROVIDE THEM WITH TOILETRIES
4. REMOVE ALL FEMALE CLOTHING FROM THE GUEST ROOM
5. DRESS DECENTLY WHEN YOU GO TO RECEIVE YOUR GUEST
6. BE KIND TO YOUR GUEST AND DON'T ASK THEM TO DO HOUSEHOLD CHORES
Abu Shurayh Khuwaylid ibn 'Amr al-Khuza'i said,
"I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), say, 'Anyone who believes in Allah and the Last
Day should honour his guest as his due.' They said, 'What is his due, Messenger
of Allah?' He said, 'A day and a night. Hospitality is for three days, and what
is beyond that is sadaqa for him.'" [Al-Bukhari (6019) and Muslim (48)]
7. DO NOT HUMILIATE BUT HONOUR YOUR GUEST THE DUTIES OF THE GUEST
1. ALWAYS CHOOSE A SUITABLE TIME TO VISIT YOUR HOST
-it is best to ask when the best time to visit is
2. DO NOT STAY MORE THAN 3 DAYS
-after this you have over stayed your welcome and no longer a guest
-your brother might commit a sin because he begins to resent your stay
3. VOLUNTEER TO HELP IF THEY NEED IT
-both in the home and business
4. DO NOT GO BEYOND THE GUEST ROOM
-you might see something you not supposed to see
5. DO NOT ANNOY YOUR HOST BY DEMANDING THINGS
-take what they have and don't demand
6. DON'T FLIRT WITH THE FEMALE MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY AS A GUEST
7. DRESS APPROPRIATELY IN THE HOUSE
