THE MUSLIM CHARACTER
Jan-29-2012 / Jan-30-2012
It is not enough to have the correct Aqeedah
- it is haram to call Islam an ideology, Islam is not an idea of a mad man
- the proper word is creed
- Aqeedah - Aqadah - tightly tied - to Qur’an and Sunnah
- this is why your belief is called Aqeedah because your belief is tightly tied
to Qur’an and Sunnah
- you do not deviate from Qur’an or Sunnah
- you need correct character to go with correct Aqeedah
What is the point in having correct Aqeedah, if you do haraam?
- i.e. you are evil, you take drugs, you go to nightclubs etc.
- to have the correct Aqeedah is not enough for you to be marriage material
Muslim's living in the West
- a lot of them have been corrupted in Aqeedah,
they live in darul harb
- there are not many people with correct Aqeedah and a good Muslim character
- some of these people are worse than kuffaar, when it comes to character
- the amount of things some Muslims get up to in darul harb, would make you
want to vomit
- if you are a weak Muslim in darul harb you should go and live in a Muslim
country
Ayyub ibn Musa reported on the authority of his
father who from his grandfather that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)
said, “No father gave a better gift to his son than (teaching) good
manners." [Tirmidhi 1959, Ahmed 15403]
- the best thing a father can give to his child
is a good character
- many times you see Muslim children and they don’t have a good character
- because they were not raised properly by their parents
- Tarbiyya (Islamic up-bringing)
- the heaviest thing on the scales on the Day of Judgment is a good character
Narrated By Abu Darda': The Prophet (ﷺ)
said: "There is nothing heavier than good character put in the scale of a
believer on the Day of Resurrection." [Abu Dawud 4799, Tirmidhi 2002,
Ahmed 27587]
- some people don’t find Islam interesting, they feel
as if it is a burden
- when you have a good heart, your good heart gives you a good character
- when you have an evil heart, it gives you an evil character
- in the bosom is a lump of flesh and if this is pure all of you becomes pure,
words of the Rasul (ﷺ)
"There is in the body a clump of flesh - if it
becomes good, the whole body becomes good and if it becomes bad, the whole body
becomes bad. And indeed it is the heart." [Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 2,
Number 49]
Abu Hurayrah (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)
said, "The most perfect of believers in belief is the best of them in
character. The best of you are those who are the best to their women."
[Tirmidhi 1165, Abu Dawud 4682]
Murji'a
- their women don’t cover their hair
- they don’t fast
- they don’t give to the poor
- they believe Islam is in their hearts
- they are liars
- if Islam was in their hearts, we would see it in their actions
- so when you say: “even though I don’t pray and I don’t fast, I am still a
Muslim”, who are you kidding?
- they think we are stupid for us to believe their rubbish talk: "I don’t
practise, but Islam is in my heart"
- if Islam was in your heart, you would be practising
- whenever you look in the mirror there is a du'a that you recite
Moral hygiene also was emphasized, for the
Prophet, (ﷺ),
encouraged Muslims to make a special prayer upon seeing themselves in the
mirror: “God, You have endowed me with a good form; like-wise bless me with an
immaculate character ”(Ibn Hanbal, Musnad, 1:34, 6:155)
- "O Allah you have made my face beautiful
so make my character beautiful as well"
- the Prophet (ﷺ) use
to seek refuge from many things:
- weakness, being lazy, from being a wimp, from being stingy, losing memory in
old age, hard-heartedness, etc
- those who have no mercy in their hearts mercy will not be shown to them
Jarir ibn 'Abdullah reported that the Messenger of
Allah (ﷺ) said,
"If someone does not show mercy to people, Allah will not show mercy to
him." [Al-Bukhari (7376) and Muslim (5737)]
Abdullah ibn Amr (RA) narrated the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
said, “Those who are merciful will be given mercy by the Most Merciful. Be
merciful to those on the earth and the One above the heavens will have mercy on
you.” [Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 40, Hadith #4941]
Narrated By Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) kissed
Al-Hasan bin Ali while Al-Aqra' bin Habis At-Tamim was sitting beside him.
Al-Aqra said, "I have ten children and I have never kissed anyone of
them," Allah's Apostle cast a look at him and said, "Whoever is not
merciful to others will not be treated mercifully." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 8,
Book 73, Hadith #026]
- to say Allah is in heaven, that is
Christianity
- to say Allah is everywhere, this is what the Jews believe
- to say Allah is above the heavens, this is what a Muslim believes
- just when you think the kuffaar have done enough, they do more, these people
are disgusting
- they come out with more things on an everyday bases

- if you go to their country to rape their kids,
they are going kill you, nobody likes a paedophile
Abu Huraira (RA) narrated the
Prophet (ﷺ) said: "A
believer is not bitten from the same hole twice.” [Related by al-Bukhari:

AFGHAN KILLING KAAFIR SOLDIERS WITH A KNIFE:
http://www.presstv.ir/detail/223278.html
- Umar ibn Al-Khattab said: we were people with
no honour and Allah give us honour through Islam
- Umar said if anybody tries to get nobility from a source
- other than Islam they will be disgraced in the land
During his Caliphate, Umar - radi Allahu 'anhu -
once set out for Ash-Shaam and with him was Abu Ubaydah. They came upon a deep
creek which they needed to cross. So Umar took off his sandals and carried them
on his shoulders. Then he took the reign of the camel and began plowing through
the water. Abu Ubaydah - seeing the Khaleefah of the Muslims in this state -
felt saddened and said, "I fear that the people of the village will think
you un-honourable." Umar said, "Oh Abu Ubaydah, if only someone less
knowledgeable than you made such a statement. We were of the most disgraced of
people and Allah granted us honour with this Islam. Now, whenever we seek
honour in other than that which Allah honoured us with, Allah shall disgrace us
(once again)."
Hosni Mubaruk
- he loved the Jews so much, he didn’t want to
offend his Jewish 'brothers'
- he tried to get honour from Jews and now he is finished
- you can’t buy love from a Gora (white kaafir)
- these Goras don’t love themselves, that’s why they kill themselves
House of Saud
- when America declared his war on Islam, the
Pakistani regime and Saudi rallied behind them
- but what happened to them? The crusaders killed them, the crusaders were
killing the Brelvis
- what a great day it was!
NATO KILLS DOZENS OF PAKISTANI SOLDIERS:
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/27/world/asia/pakistan-says-nato-helicopters-kill-dozens-of-soldiers.html
Two Qiblas
- the black house in Makkah and the white house
in Washington
- you need to decide which Qibla you want
- the one built by Ibraheem (AS) or the one owned by the kuffaar
- you need to decide which one you want, white or black
Allah says
They (hyprocrites) say: "If we return to
Al-Madinah, indeed the more honourable ('Abdûllah bin Ubai bin Salul, the chief
of hyprocrites at Al¬Madinah) will expel therefrom the meaner (i.e. Allah's
Messenger ﷺ)."
But honour, power and glory belong to Allah, His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and
to the believers, but the hypocrites know not. (Al-Munafiqun 63:8)
“If you deal in usury (riba) and hang onto the
tails of cows, being satisfied with cultivation and ceasing to take part in
Jihad, Allah will inflict a humiliation upon you which will not be removed
until you return to your religion.” [Reported by Ahmad and Abu Dawud and graded
as authentic by Al-Qattan. Al-Hafiz states in Al-Bulugh that the chain of
narrators is trustworthy and reliable]
- the munafiqun don’t realise this
- if you practise interest and leave behind jihad, Allah causes ignobility to
fall upon you
- meaning no Izzah
- what’s the difference between Miskeen and Faqeer?
- the Faqeer can find food but he has no savings
- Miskeen - he can’t find food and he eats out of the trash can, this is the
Miskeen
And proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the
Prophethood and all other Graces). (Ad-Duha 93:11)
Narrated By 'Aisha: The Prophet (ﷺ) used
to seek refuge with Allah (by saying), "O Allah! I seek refuge with You
from the affliction of the Fire and from the punishment in the Fire, and seek
refuge with You from the affliction of the grave, and I seek refuge with You
from the affliction of wealth, and I seek refuge with You from the affliction
of poverty, and seek refuge with You from the affliction of Al-Masih
Ad-Dajjal" [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 8, Book 75, Hadith #387]
- Shaytan uses poverty as a weapon and then he
commands you to do shameful things
Shaitan (Satan) threatens you with poverty and
orders you to commit Fahsha (evil deeds, illegal sexual intercourse, sins
etc.); whereas Allah promises you Forgiveness from Himself and Bounty, and
Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower. (Al-Baqarah
2:268)
- the scholars of Islam say, this shameful act
is prostitution
- if you go on YouTube you will see what’s going on in the world
- "there are no problems in the world, the problem is only in your
mind", this is how these people think
- the prophet (ﷺ) kept
in touch with current events (fiqhul waaqi)
- this was how he got to know about the justice if the Negus in Ethiopia
- he kept in touch with current events to make right decisions
- the prophet (ﷺ) use
to seek refuge from disbelief
- also from sins, miserable, from showing off, dumb, deaf, madness, anorexia
etc
- many women suffer anorexia in Europe, they are very skinny and you can see
their bones
- the white man tells them that, if you are not skinny, you are not real women
- these women are oppressed, in Islam a woman is liberated
- if you marry an anorexic woman she may die when she’s thirty
Being Obese
- there are many people who die from being obese
- the believer eats with one intestine, the kuffaar eat with seven
Ibn Umar (RA) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ)
said, “The disbeliever eats in seven intestines while the believer eats in one
intestine.’ [Al-Bukhari (5393) and Muslim (2060)]
MAN EATS HIMSELF TO DEATH IN EAST SUSSEX:

“Poverty, in all probability, leads to unbelief
(kufr).” [Bayhaqi and Tabarani]
- the Prophet (ﷺ) used
three words to describe poverty
- Umar said poverty leads to kufr
- even the crusaders know that poverty leads to this
But seek, with that (wealth) which Allah has
bestowed on you, the home of the Hereafter, and forget not your portion of
legal enjoyment in this world, and do good as Allah has been good to you, and
seek not mischief in the land. Verily, Allah likes not the Mufsidûn (those who
commit great crimes and sins, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupts).
(Al-Qasas 28:77)
- the purpose of sending Muhammad (ﷺ) is
to give you a good character
Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard
that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
said, "I was sent to perfect good character." [Maliks Muwatta, Book
47, Hadith #008]
Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad SAW)
you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah
and the Last Day and remembers Allah much. (Al-Ahzab 33:21)
He it is Who sent among the unlettered ones a
Messenger (Muhammad SAW) from among themselves, reciting to them His Verses,
purifying them (from the filth of disbelief and polytheism), and teaching them
the Book (this Qur'an, Islamic laws and Islamic jurisprudence) and Al-Hikmah
(As-Sunnah: legal ways, orders, acts of worship, etc. of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ). And
verily, they had been before in mainfest error; (Al-Jumu'ah 62:2)
And verily, you (O Muhammad ﷺ) are
on an exalted standard of character. (Al-Qalam 68:4)
History repeats itself
Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. (1) Who
has gathered wealth and counted it, (2) He thinks that his wealth will make him
last forever! (3) Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire.(4)
(Al-Humuzah 104:1-4)
- Allah sent down this ayah because of what the
people have done to the prophet
AL-FAKHURA SCHOOL INCIDENT :

And We decreed for the Children of Israel in the
Scripture, that indeed you would do mischief on the earth twice and you will
become tyrants and extremely arrogant! (Al-Isra 17:4)
- Allah told us in the Qur’an that they (Jews)
will commit mischief on the earth twice
- and that they will become very proud and arrogant
- if you read the Qur’an then you will know, what’s happening in the world
GAZA FLOTILLA RAID :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaza_flotilla_raid
- rather than keeping your Qur’an at home and
let it gather dust, read it and benefit from it
First Mischief
- slandering prophets
Second Mischief
- 1948 - establishing Israel
- killing Muslims etc
- the enemies of Muhammad will have no hope in the future, this is a promise of
Allah
Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad (Peace be
upon him)) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise); (1)Therefore turn in prayer to
your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only). (2) For he who makes you angry (O
Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), - he will be cut off (from every good thing in
this world and in the Hereafter).(3) (Al-Kawthar 108:1-3)
- Abu Lahab and his wife are going to hellfire,
this is another promise of Allah
Perish the two hands of Abû Lahab (an uncle of
the Prophet), and perish he! (1) His wealth and his children (etc.) will not
benefit him! (2) He will be burnt in a Fire of blazing flames!(3) (Al-Masad
111:1-3)
And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan
which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) , or use to
slander him). (4) In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre).(5)
(Al-Masad 111:4-5)
- in order for you to be a good Muslim
- you need to show respect to your parents and the elders
- respect to the Muslim leaders
Al-Ash'ari said, "Part of respect for Allah
is to show respect to an old Muslim and to someone who knows the Qur'an, as
long as he does not go to excess in it nor turn away from it, and to respect a
just ruler." [Al-Adab al-Mufrad Al-Bukhari, Hadith #357]
Anas ibn Maalik narrated: An old man came to meet the Prophet the people were
slow to give him passage. So, the Prophet (ﷺ)
said, “He is not one of us who is not compassionate to our young (children) and
respectful to our old.” [Tirmidhi 1926, Bukhari 354]
- Hassan and Hussain went to the Masjid and saw
a man doing Wudhu
- the man was Jahil and did not know how to make Wudhu properly
- they wanted to teach him, so they had a competition between each other
- they asked the man to judge on, who is better, they did not disrespect the
elderly man
One day an old pious Bedouin came to Medina. At
the time of Prayers he began to make wudu’ but he was making his wudu'
(ablution) incorrectly. Hassan and Hussain (Allah be pleased with them both)
saw the old man making wudu’ wrong and they wanted to correct him. They didn’t
want to offend him or make him feel insulted, so they came up with a plan. They
went to the old man and said, "My brother and I disagree over who amongst
us performs wudu’ the best. Would you mind watching us make wudu’ and be the
judge to see which one of us indeed performs wudu' more correctly? Could you
please correct us wherever we are wrong?" The man watched carefully trying
to judge who is better. In the end he understood what was going on and said
"By Allah, I did not know how to perform wudu’ before this. You have both
taught me how to do it correctly."
- if you are not a practising Muslim you become
a human devil
- the society of the kuffaar is nothing but an habitation for human devils
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HATE THE FOLLOWING THREE
1. A SINCERE SCHOLAR OF ISLAM
2. A JUST RULER
3. AN OLD MUSLIM
Al-Ash'ari said, "Part of respect for Allah
is to show respect to an old Muslim and to someone who knows the Qur'an, as
long as he does not go to excess in it nor turn away from it, and to respect a
just ruler." [Al-Adab al-Mufrad Al-Bukhari, Hadith #357]
WHEN EVER YOU HEAR THE PROPHETS NAME
- you should ALWAYS say Sallallahu Alayhi
Wasalam
- a person that does not say this is a stingy person
Ali ibn Abu Talib (RA) reported that Allah’s
Messenger (ﷺ)
said, “The miser is he before whom I am mentioned but he does not invoke
blessings on me.” [Tirmidhi 3557, Ahmed 1736]
Allah says
Allah sends His Salat (Graces, Honours,
Blessings, Mercy, etc.) on the Prophet (Muhammad ﷺ) and
also His angels too (ask Allah to bless and forgive him). O you who believe!
Send your Salat on (ask Allah to bless) him (Muhammad ﷺ), and
(you should) greet (salute) him with the Islamic way of greeting (salutation
i.e. As-Salamu 'Alaikum). (Al-Ahzab 33:56)
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (RA) said: The
Prophet (ﷺ)
ascended the minbar and said: “Ameen, ameen, ameen.” It was said: ‘O Messenger
of Allah, you ascended the minbar and said, ‘Ameen, ameen, ameen.” He said:
“Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to me and said: ‘If Ramadan comes and a
person is not forgiven, he will enter Hell and Allah will cast him far away.
Say Ameen.’ So I said Ameen. He said: ‘O Muhammad, if both or one of a person’s
parents are alive and he does not honour them and he dies, he will enter Hell
and Allah will cast him far away. Say Ameen.’ So I said Ameen. He said: ‘If you
are mentioned in a person’s presence and he does not send blessings upon you
and he dies, he will enter Hell and Allah will cast him far away. Say Ameen.’
So I said Ameen.” [Narrated by Ibn Hibbaan, 3/188]
- female sahabah - radiallahu anha
- male sahabah - radiallahu anhu
- a scholar of Islam that is dead - rahimaullah
e.g Shaikh Anwar Awlaki (rahimaullah)
- a sincere scholar that is alive - hafizullah
e.g Shaikh Muhammad Al Maqdasi you say (hafizullah)
- with regards the fitna that took place between Ali and Muawiyah (RA)
- you are not allowed to insult either of them
And those who came after them say: "Our
Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in Faith, and put not in
our hearts any hatred against those who have believed. Our Lord! You are indeed
full of kindness, Most Merciful. (Al-Hashr 59:10)
That was a nation who has passed away. They shall
receive the reward of what they earned and you of what you earn. And you will
not be asked of what they used to do. (Al-Baqarah 2:134)
- you have to show respect to all the four great
imams
- you must have an expert in fiqh to teach you, this is called faqeeh
- and also you must have an expert in Aqeedah to teach you
- you cannot shop around to get the correct opinion
- when you are taught Aqeedah
- you are aware of all these wrong groups
- i.e the Mad MADkhalis (Saudi Salafis), the Shi’as, the Goofy Soofis
- they are all viruses in the Ummah, so you need an expert to teach you
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
THE MUSLIM CHARACTER
- there are many traits needed in the Muslim’s
1ST TRAIT: RESPECT TO THOSE IN AUTHORITY
- is to respect those in authority and obey
their leadership, these are:
i. POLITICAL LEADERSHIP
ii. MILITARY LEADERSHIP
iii. RELIGIOUS LEADERSHIP
- you only obey the political leader, if he
implements the Shariah
- else he should be toppled
Prophet (saws) said topple the leader if you see
clear kufr [Bukhari Vol 9 Page 146]
O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the
Messenger (Muhammad SAW), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority.
(And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His
Messenger (SAW), if you believe in Allah and in the Last Day. That is better
and more suitable for final determination. (An-Nisa 4:59)
- the wicked scholars should not be obeyed
- the leader should be from among you
- we've seen the leaders joining the United Nations, International Monetary
Fund etc
- you are not allowed to join an organisation that is based on kufr
- you should only join groups based on Islam
- don’t join regimes like Gaddafi, Bashar Al Asaad etc
- the regime of Gaddafi which is now in the dustbin of history
- the family of Bashar Al Asaad were running away, but came under attack from
the Mujahideen
- these toppled leaders sought honour from other than Islam and they are now
disgraced
Now, whenever we seek
honour in other than that which Allah honoured us with, Allah shall disgrace us
(once again)".
RESPECTING THE ELDERS
- the rasul (ﷺ) said
he's not of us who doesn't respect the elders
Anas ibn Maalik narrated: An old man came to
meet the Prophet The people were slow to give him passage. So, the Prophet (ﷺ)
said, “He is not one of us who is not compassionate to our young (children) and
respectful to our old.” [Tirmidhi 1926, Bukhari 354]
- so as a Muslim you should show respect to
those in authority
- if the authority is an Islamic one, else you should topple it
Prophet (ﷺ) said
topple the leader if you see clear kufr [Bukhari Vol 9 Page 146]
YOU SHOULD NOT HATE THREE PEOPLE:
i. A RIGHTEOUS SCHOLAR OF ISLAM
ii. AN OLD MUSLIM
iii. A JUST RULER
Al-Ash'ari said, "Part of respect for Allah
is to show respect to an old Muslim and to someone who knows the Qur'an, as
long as he does not go to excess in it nor turn away from it, and to respect a
just ruler." [Al-Adab al-Mufrad Al-Bukhari, Hadith #357]
- whenever you hear Muhammad, you should say (ﷺ)
- else you are stingy
Ali ibn Abu Talib (RA) reported that Allah’s
Messenger (ﷺ)
said, “The miser is he before whom I am mentioned but he does not invoke
blessings on me.” [Tirmidhi 3557, Ahmed 1736]
- the other prophets = Alayhi Salaam
- a male Sahabah = Radi'allahu Anhu
- a female Sahabah = Radi'allahu Anha
- a sincere Shaikh who is dead = rahimuhullah
- if he's alive = hafidhahullah
- the Shi’ites say karamallah wajhah, when the
name of Ali (RA) is mentioned
- this is bid'ah, the people who practice bid’ah should not be given respect
Those who give respect to a bid'ati (innovator
in Religion) surely will be counted as a helper of destroying Islam. (Mishkat
Sharif, p.31) (From The Virtues of Sunnah and the evils of Bid'ah in Islam by
Mufti Sayyid 'Abd al-Rahim Sahib Lajpuri)
- when history tells a situation in which the
pious predecessors had a conflict
- example: Ali and Muawiyya
- you should not condemn either of them
- but your response should be 2:134
That was a nation who has passed away. They
shall receive the reward of what they earned and you of what you earn. And you
will not be asked of what they used to do. (Al-Baqarah 2:134)
- Hassan Al Basri quoted this verse when he was
asked about them
- you were not there and won’t be asked about it on judgment Day
- so be concerned with what you'll be ask about
- example: the current situation of the Ummah, what have you done about that?
And those who came after them say: "Our
Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in Faith, and put not in
our hearts any hatred against those who have believed. Our Lord! You are indeed
full of kindness, Most Merciful. (Al-Hashr 59:10)
- you are suppose to respect and love the
Sahabahs
- 59:10 serves this purpose, it protects your heart from hatred of Sahabahs
- so hypocrites hate the Sahabahs and insult them like the Shi’ites
- you need to respect the 4 great imams too
- and when they differ you choose the one closest to Quran and Sunnah
- and they all said that if the hadith is Sahih, then that is their Madhab
- some people reject hadiths that contradicts their Madhab, they are rigid in
their Madhab
When the crusaders were invading Spain
- the scholars were busy discussing whether it
is permissible for the different Madhabs to inter marry
- the four Imams were teachers and students of one another
- it is compulsory to have a Shaikh who shops around for the right fiqh ruling
- so they need a Shaikh to explain things to
them
- you should ask if you don’t know 16:43
So ask of those who know the Scripture [learned
men of the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)], if you know not. (An-Nahl
16:43)
- If you learn your Aqeedah you are saved from
the viruses
- example: the MADkhalis, Goofy Soofis, the Shi’ites etc
- their viruses are so evident that you don’t need a microscope to see them
- the mad MADkhalis passed a recent fatwa saying the greatest jihad is to fight
the Mujahideen
SHAIKH FAWZAAN CLAIMS THE GREATEST JIHAD IS TO KILL MUJAHIDEEN:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wwJPZTDJw8
There are Two Types of Salafis:
- the Salafi Jihadi and the Saudi Salafi
- the Salafi Jihadi calls for Jihad, Khilafah and Shariah
- the Saudi Salafi are the mad MADkhalis, they cooperate with the MI5/FBI to
catch the Mujahideen
- they are Zindeeq, you should not pray behind them, nor marry your daughters
to them
- they have no shame hence pass such fatwas
- wicked scholars like Yusuf Qaradawi
- the wicked are easy to recognise, they believe in democracy, they don’t
reject the Taghoot
Abu Dhar said, "I was with the Prophet (ﷺ) one
day and I heard him saying: "There is something I fear for my Ummah than
the Dajjal." It was then that I became afraid, so I said: "Oh Rasool
Allah! Which thing is that?" He (ﷺ)
said; "Misguided and astray scholars." Recorded in Musnad Imam Ahmad (no.21,334
and no.21,335).
- they like to do interfaith dialogue, Allah
asked them in surah 68:35-36
Shall We then treat the (submitting) Muslims
like the Mujrimûn (criminals, polytheists and disbelievers, etc.)? (35) What is
the matter with you? How judge you?(36) (Al-Qalam 68:35-36)
- they claim to be searching for a common
ground, for the Abrahamic faiths which doesn’t exist
- we are unique in our Tawheed
- we have nothing in common: with regards to Allah (SWT), Muhammad, Jesus etc
Indeed, Allah has heard the statement of those
(Jews) who say: "Truly, Allah is poor and we are rich!" We shall
record what they have said and their killing of the Prophets unjustly, and We
shall say: "Taste you the torment of the burning (Fire)." (Aali Imran
3:181)
O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya' (friends,
protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya' to one another. And if any
amongst you takes them as Auliya', then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah
guides not those people who are the Zalimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers and
unjust). (Al-Ma'idah 5:51)
2ND TRAIT: YOU NEED TO BE SELFLESS NOT SELFISH
- the rasul (ﷺ)
says:
Narrated by Anas ibn Malik (RA) that the Prophet
(ﷺ)
said: “No one of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he
loves for himself.” [Al-Bukhari (13) and Muslim (45)]
- in the West they are very selfish
- they say “God helps those who help themselves”, there is some truth to what
they are saying
- because there is an ayah that says, man will only accomplish what he saw
And that man can have nothing but what he does
(good or bad), (An-Najm 53:39)
- but they go to the extreme, in that they don’t
help each other
Abu Hurayrah (RA) reported that Allahs Messenger
(ﷺ) said
“If anyone relieves a Muslims hardship in this world then Allah will remove
from him a hardship of the hereafter. And if anyone conceals a Muslims fault
then Allah will conceal (his fault) in the world and the hereafter. And Allah
goes on helping the slave as long as the slave helps his brother. [Tirmidhi
1430, Muslim 2699, Abu Dawud 4946, Ahmed 7431]
- the West is a very selfish culture
- this shows the superiority of Islamic over the western culture
- we follow Abraham (AS) who prepared a good meal for his guests (the angels)
The Messenger of Allah said: “Anybody who believes
in Allah and the last day should not harm his neighbor, and anybody who
believes in Allah and the last day should entertain his guest generously and
anybody who believes in Allah and the last day should say what is good or keep quiet”.
(Sahih Bukhari (Arabic/English) Vol.8 pg.29 No.47)
- selfishness has no room in Islam
- the selfish people have evil character and always ends in divorce
- all they know is: “me, myself and I”
3RD TRAIT: YOU NEED TO BE TRUTHFUL
- Allah says in 9:119
O you who believe! Be afraid of Allah, and be
with those who are true (in words and deeds). (At-Tawbah 9:119)
- but you can lie in the following:
YOU CAN LIE ON THREE OCCASIONS:
i. IN BATTLE
- war is deception
ii. TO RECONCILE BETWEEN TWO MUSLIMS
- because the Islamic brotherhood and sisterhood
is sacred
iii. TO SAVE A MARRIAGE
...Ibn Shihab said he did not hear that
exemption was granted in anything what the people speak as lie but in three
cases: in battle, for bringing reconciliation amongst persons and the narration
of the words of the husband to his wife, and the narration of the words of a
wife to her husband (in a twisted form in order to bring reconciliation between
them). [Sahih Muslim, Book 32, Hadith #6303]
Narrated Ka'b ibn Malik: When the Prophet (ﷺ) intended
to go on an expedition, he always pretended to be going somewhere else, and he
would say: "War is deception". [Abu Dawud 2629, Tirmidhi 1681, Ahmed
14312]
4TH TRAIT: YOU NEED TO BE TRUSTWORTHY
- you can’t trust everyone
- you need to know who to trust
- if he doesn’t pray, pay Zakah etc then he can’t be trusted
ON THE AUTHORITY OF ANAS IBN MALIK A man without trust is a man without
faith. And a man who does not fulfill his promises is a man without faith.
HADITH OF AHMAD IBN HANBAL.
- if you are bitten the same way twice, it means
you are weak
Abu Huraira (RA) narrated
the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "A believer is not bitten from the same hole twice.” [Related
by al-Bukhari: (8/83) Hadith: 6133) and Muslim (2998) & (42/13) Hadith 7137) & Book 55 , Hadith 81]
- many of you can’t keep a secret and let it out when you have a fight
- with the one who entrusted you with the secret
- men can keep secrets more than women (this is Shaikh’s experience)
- a man without honour won’t hesitate to rob you because he has nothing to lose
- some Muslims are so evil, Muslim women don’t want to marry them
- don’t molest kids because if girls are molested she'll either be a lesbian or will be a prostitute
- saying; if her close relative can do that to her, how can she trust another man?
- your close people (relatives) you should feel safe with you
- people seek a character reference before getting married, this is to build the trust
- some men marry for money and rip-off their wives
- trust is a beautiful quality to have trust in your character
Yusuf (AS) was trustworthy
- that was why he was given the job of the minister in Egypt
And the king said: "Bring him to me that I may attach him to my person." Then, when he spoke to him, he said: "Verily, this day, you are with us high in rank and fully trusted." (54) [Yûsuf (Joseph)] said: "Set me over the storehouses of the land; I will indeed guard them with full knowledge" (as a minister of finance in Egypt, in place of Al-'Aziz who was dead at that time). (55) (Yusuf 12:54-55)
Musa (AS) was also trustworthy
- the girl told her father that Musa (AS) was trustworthy and should hire him
- the first opinion is that she had Firaasa (intuition), that was why she recognised Musa’s quality
And said one of them (the two women): "O my father! Hire him! Verily, the best of men for you to hire is the strong, the trustworthy." (Al-Qasas 28:26)
- what a wonderful advice she gave to her father
- another opinion is that, Musa lowered his gaze when he saw them and that is the correct opinion
- many people were fired because they were caught stealing
- so how can they get a good character reference from their former employer
- these are examples from Qur’an
- let’s now look at example from hadith
- Muhammad (ﷺ) was called Al-Ameen (the trustworthy), long before he became a rasul
- so the kufaar couldn’t make up anything against his character
- the poets don’t practice what they preach
The life of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon Him) has been said by his wife, Aisha (RA) to be like "a walking Qur’an", embodying the Laws of Almighty Allah (subhaana wa taalah).
- they held the meeting because they needed to be united
- when slandering his name because he was the walking Quran, he practiced what he preached
-Allah spoke about this in surah 74:18-26
Verily, he thought and plotted; (18) So let him be cursed! How he plotted! (19) And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! (20) And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! (20) Then he thought; (21) Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; (22) Then he turned back and was proud; (23)Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old;(24) (Al-Muddaththir 74:18-24)
"This is nothing but the word of a human being!" (25) I will cast him into Hell-fire (26) (Al-Muddaththir 74:25-26)
- this is one of the predictions of the Qur’an, Waleed Ibn Mugheera died a kaafir
- he wanted to be a Prophet, he was jealous of the rasul
And they say: "Why is not this Qur'an sent down to some great man of the two towns (Makkah and Ta'if)?" (Az-Zukhruf 43:31)
- Allah will never reveal the Quran to a man who is not trustworthy
- when he was making hijrah
- he left Ali behind to return all the properties of the kuffaar that were entrusted to him
- the kuffaar trusted him with their wealth
- Allah (SWT) offered the responsibility of Islam to the mountains but they refused to take it
- we took it and Allah trusted us, yet we don’t implement the Shariah
- we implement everything except the Shariah
Truly, We did offer Al-Amanah (the trust or moral responsibility or honesty and all the duties which Allah as ordained) to the heavens and the earth, and the mountains, but they declined to bear it and were afraid of it (i.e. afraid of Allah's Torment). But man bore it. Verily, he was unjust (to himself) and ignorant (of its results). (Al-Ahzab 33:72)
- some people make indecent proposals to brother's wife
- Zina is a debt you owe
- there is no sex before marriage in Islam
Stay chaste and your women will be chaste, and save yourself from that which is unfit for a Muslim. Verily, adultery is a debt, if you have taken this debt, know that its payment will be taken from the people of your household. One who commits adultery, in return adultery will be committed with him, even though it will be committed against the wall of your house. O man! If you are wise then you should know it (Diwan Ash-Shafi'i)
There are Two Types of Proposals:
i. Praiseworthy – i.e. Nikah
ii. Blameworthy – i.e. Zina
- the hypocrites hide in Wallahi
- to con the believers and they are evil
They have made their oaths a screen (for their hypocrisy). Thus they hinder (men) from the Path of Allah. Verily, evil is what they used to do. (Al-Munafiqun 63:2)
- Imam Malik kicked the hypocrite from his study circle because it is contagious
Imam Malik: "Allah's rising over the throne is known, and how is unknown, to have faith in it is obligatory and to question it is an innovation ". Then he said to the questioner: "I do not think except that you are an evil man". So he ordered him to be expelled
- Umar chopped off the head of the man who asked for his opinion after the rasul (ﷺ) gave his verdict
- no one condemned him for this, if the rasul doesn’t condemn anything then it is hadith
- e.g. Khalid Ibn Walid eating the lizard
Malik related to me from Ibn Shihab from Abu Umama ibn Sahl ibn Hunayf from Abdullah ibn Abbas that Khalid ibn al-Walid ibn al-Mughira entered the house of Maimuna, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ), with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and he was brought a roasted lizard. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), stretched his hand toward it. One of the women who was in Maimuna's house said, "Tell the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), what he means to eat." Someone said, "It is a lizard, Messenger of Allah." He withdrew his hand. Khalid said, "Is it haram, Messenger of Allah?" He said, "No, but there were none in my people's land, and I find that I dislike them." Khalid added, "I chewed and ate it while the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), was looking." [Maliks Muwatta, Book 54, Hadith #010]
