HADITH
NUMBER 12
The hadith tells us that we should mind our business
-Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) told us not to be suspicious in 49:12 and next backbiting
O you who believe! Avoid much suspicions, indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allāh. Verily, Allāh is the One Who accepts repentance, Most Merciful. (Al-Hujurat 49:12)
-the Ulama explained the hikma behind Allah arranging the sins like this
-when you suspect someone then you spy and then backbite about your findings
-this is very detrimental to the brotherhood and sisterhood of Islam
-you end up being a tale bearer as you spread the findings
-and the tale-bearer will never enter Jannat
It is reported from Hudhaifa that news reached him (the Holy Prophet) that a certain man carried tales. Upon this Hudhaifa remarked: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying: "The tale-bearer shall not enter Paradise." [Al-Bukhari (6056) and Muslim (189)]
The privacy of people should remain private
-spying is haram
-people spy to disgrace the other
Other people spy to tell the kuffaar about your aqeeda
-these are called agent provocateur
-the kuffaar have files on everyone who is important
-or a person who has a potential of being important in the future
-they want to know everything about you to blackmail you in the future
-they know if you are having an affair and with who or what
Tony Blair lied about Iraq and invaded it
-Mark Oaten's character was finished in the media
-when they published that he was having an affair with another man
MARK OATEN : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Oaten
The kuffaar will always blackmail you with the information they have about you
-this will make you keep to their terms
-this is haram in Islam because we have six sacred things
-your life, wealth, deen, aql, lineage, honour
Narrated by Uqbah ibn Amir: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "He who sees something which should be kept hidden and conceals it will be like one who has brought to life a girl buried alive." [Abu Dawood (4/273, No. 4891), al-Hakim (4/426, No. 8162), al-Bayhaqi (8/331, No. 17387), Sunan Kubra Nasa'i (4/307, No. 7281), At-Tabarani (17/319, No. 883)]
-because your honour is sacred you are not allowed to spy and backbite
Asma' Bint Yazid narrated the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever defends the honour of his brother in absence has the right over Allah to be freed from the Fire." [Musnad Ahmad (6/461) No. 27650, al-Mu’jam al-Kabir al-Tabarani (24/176) No. 443, Musnad Abu Dawud at-Tayalisi (3/201) No. 1737]
-if you disgrace a Muslim Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) will disgrace you in this life and the next
-to be disgraced on judgement day is very bad
-because Allah (سبحانه وتعالىٰ) will show your bad deeds to the whole of humanity
That Day it will declare its information (about all what happened over it of good or evil). (Az-Zalzalah 99:4)
And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it. (Az-Zalzalah 99:8)
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying: The servant (who conceals) the faults of others in this world, Allah would conceal his faults on the Day of Resurrection. [Sahih Muslim, Book 32, Hadith #6267]
Politics is a very dirty game
-all that the politicians do is blackmail each other
-when you go searching for weaknesses in others
-you end up looking down on them and end up being a hermit
-the one who is patient with the Muslims is better than the one who doesn't
Ibn Umar (RA) narrated the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The believer that mixes with people and endures the hardship they cause, he is better than the believer who does not mix with people and so does not endure the hardship they cause." [Musnad Ahmad (5/365) No. 23147, Sunan Ibn Majah (5/160) No. 4032, Sunan Tirmidhi (4/243) No. 2507]
Narrated By Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever notices something which he dislikes done by his ruler, then he should be patient, for whoever becomes separate from the company of the Muslims even for a span and then dies, he will die as those who died in the Pre-lslamic period of Ignorance. [Al-Bukhari (7054) and Muslim (1849)]
It makes you become paranoid of others
-he wants to say he is the most pious in the community
-every other person is evil except him
A sinful person who dabbles in zina is very keen to highlight the weaknesses of others
-Uthman (r.a) said every prostitute is looking for company
Uthman ibn Affan (RA) said: "Every prostitute wants all women to be a prostitute like her." [Ibn Taymiyyah Majmua al-Fatawa (28/151)]
Whenever a person is a hypocrite, he likes to spy and pry on others
-because he is jealous of their emaan and taqwa
-so he is looking for disturbing revelations
-hoping to disgrace them
It is very dangerous to disgrace someone
-because this forces them to become a hermit
Ibn Mas'ood said we were commanded not to spy on the Muslims
-and finding fault
-unless they do something openly
It has been reported that a man was brought before Abdullah bin Mas'ud (RA) because his beard was giving out smell of wine. Ibn Mas'ud said: "We have been prohibited from spying (on Muslims) and finding faults (with them). But if something is clear to us, then we punish for it." [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/272-273) No. 4890]
The ayah in surah 49 is clear
O you who believe! Avoid much suspicions, indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allāh. Verily, Allāh is the One Who accepts repentance, Most Merciful. (Al-Hujurat 49:12)
DO NOT SPY ON ONE ANOTHER
-we are also forbidden to eavesdrop
There is no backbiting in marriage
-and if someone comes for a character reference before marriage
-you should reveal the information
-but you should only do so when you are asked
-never volunteer to do so
The prophet (saw) told Fatimah bint Qays the character of the men that proposed to her
-because this is allowed
-and he did after being asked by her
Fatimah bint Qays went to the Prophet ﷺ seeking marital advice when both Mu’awiyah Ibin Abu Sufyan and Abu Jahm had proposed to her. The Prophet told her, "Mu’awiyah is stingy and tight fisted) and Abu Jahm beats his women." So marry Usamah instead. [Sahih Muslim (2/1114) No. 1480, Sunan Abu Dawud (2/285) No. 2284, Sunan Tirmidhi (3/440) No. 1134, Sunan An-Nasa'i (6/75) No. 3245]
There is also no backbiting with regards to business
-if someone ask you if they could open business with someone
-you should be frank
You are allowed to expose a wicked scholar
-because he is misguiding the ummah
There is no backbiting for a spy too
-these people ask incriminating questions
-to entrap you
There is ijmaa among the scholars that spying for the kuffaar makes you a kaafir
Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahab, may Allah have mercy on him, gathered ten actions that negate one's Islam (Nawaqid ul-'Ashr), the eighth one of which states: "Assisting the disbelievers (against the believers) (Mudhaharatul Mushrikeen) and supporting them against the believers (is from the actions that negates of one's faith). The Proof being the statement of Allah, "And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya', then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers and unjust). (The Quran 5:51)."
Meddling in the affairs of others is haram
-many marriages were broken up because of this
-too many people meddle into the marriage
-and everybody giving their orders
"Be keen with what is beneficial to you, and seek help from Allah - do not be reckless." [Tirmidhi]
It is haram to meddle into affairs which don’t concern you because it is time wasting
-you are not allowed to waste your time and money
-because the wasters are the brothers of the shaytan
Verily, spendthrifts are brothers of the Shayatīn (devils), and the Shaitān (Devil ¬ Satan) is ever ungrateful to his Lord. (Al-Isra 17:27)
The Prophet (ﷺ) used to seek refuge from knowledge that has no benefit
-a heart that has no fear of Allah
-a soul that cannot be satisfied
-and a dua that is not answered
On the authority of Abu Huraira (RA) the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to said: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْأَرْبَعِ، مِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ، وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ، وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ، وَمِنْ دُعَاءٍ لَا يُسْمَعُ "Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min al-'Arba'a min ‘ilmin la yanfa’ wa min qalbin la yakhsha’ wa min nafsin la tashba’ wa min du’a'in la yusma’" (O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from four things: from knowledge that is of no benefit, a heart which is not submissive, a soul which has an insatiable appetite, and a supplication which is not heard). [Musnad Ahmad (2/340) No. 8469, Sunan Abu Dawud (2/92) No. 1548, Sunan al-Nasa'i (8/263) No. 5467, Sunan Ibn Majah (5/11) No. 3837]
Why are you seeking knowledge about things that cannot benefit the ummah?
-e.g. studying Chinese history
If it is very expensive to get a degree, why do you study crap?
-the prophet (saw) said part of being a good Muslim
-is to leave that which does not concern you
We have so many problems affecting the ummah
-why not engage yourself in studying that
-because that will benefit the ummah
Hindus are rapping our women in Kashmir
-the Jews are digging a tunnel underneath masjid Al Aqsa
-what about the siege on Gaza?
-which is the worst oppression in history
-how about Syria, Afghanistan
BRITISH TROOPS RAPING AFGHAN CHILDREN: http://www.presstv.ir/detail/221763.html
The Shi'ites want to spend 3-4 hours discussing
-who should have been caliph, Ali or Abu Bakr
-or discussing about the fitna between Ali and Mu’awiya
-but will Allah ask me on judgement day why I did not give my bay'a to Ali (r.a)?
-I was not there!!!!!
-Hassan al Basri gave them a famous answer
-and he refused to discuss the matter
That was a nation who has passed away. They shall receive the reward of what they earned and you of what you earn. And you will not be asked of what they used to do. (Al-Baqarah 2:134)
Why don’t you concern yourself with your personal affairs
-did you pray fajr on time this morning?
-Allah will ask you about that
-are you taking drugs?
-Umar al Khattab said do self-analysis of yourself before you are being analysed
Umar ibn al-Khattab said during his khutba: "Make an analysis of your own selves before you are analysed and weigh yourself worth before you are weighed." [Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah (7/96) No. 34459]
Are you reviving the Sunnah?
-or are you supporting bid'ah
Aisha narrated the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Those who give respect to a bid'ati (innovator in Religion) surely will be counted as a helper of destroying Islam." [al-Tabarani in 'al-Mu’jam al-Awsat' (7/35) No. 6772 and al-Bayhaqi in 'Shu'ab al-Emaan' (12/57) No. 9018]
-are you calling for jihad or democracy?
-are you following the pious predecessors?
-or you are a mad MADkhali?
Do you fast every Ramadan or you cheat and eat?
-analyse yourself first
Did you preach al walaa wal baraa?
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA) from the Prophet (ﷺ), who said: "Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says: 'The first of his actions for which a servant of Allah will be held accountable on the Day of Resurrection will be his prayers.' If they are in order, then he will have prospered and succeeded; and if they are wanting, then he will have failed and lost. If there is something defective in his obligatory prayers, the Lord (glorified and exalted be He) will say: 'See if My servant has any supererogatory prayers with which may be completed that which was defective in his obligatory prayers.' Then the rest of his actions will be judged in like fashion." [At-Tirmidhi (also by Abu Dawud, an-Nasa'i, Ibn Majah and Ahmad).]
-do you practice kufr bit taghoot
-concern yourself with things Allah will ask you about
-not what He won’t ask you about
Hadith number 12 also means stick to your expertise
-why are you talking about medicine and you are not a doctor
-why are you passing fatawa and you are not a scholar
It also means if you are in a gathering and someone ask a question to a man
-don’t jump to answer it
-he will say to you, I was not talking to you
-why are you answering the question
Waasil ibn Ataa who founded the Mu'tazilite movement
-he was in the study circle of Hassan al Basri
-and jumped to answer a question posted to the imam
-he introduced the aqeeda of “sitting on the fence”
-and so he was kicked out of the study circle
The hadith also means it is haram to ask inquisitive questions
-don’t ask a man if he found his wife a virgin
MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!
Don’t ask people how much they earn at work
There is a conflict in Northern Ireland between the Catholics and the Protestants
-how is that your business
-the ummah is suffering so how is that your concern
-you should concern yourself with establishing the khilafah system
Also you should not comment on every calamity happening in the world
-the kuffaar will say you are behind it
-by saying NO COMMENT, YOU SAVE YOUR LIFE

It is better for you to be concerned with the plight of the ummah
It was narrated from Abd-Allaah ibn Masood (RA) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever starts his day caring about something other than Allaah has nothing to do with Allaah, and whoever does not care about the Muslims is not one of them." [Narrated by al-Haakim in al-Mustadrak (4/356)]
Narrated by An-Nu'man bin Bashir: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “The likeness of the believers in their mutual love, mercy and compassion is that of one body; when one part of it suffers, the rest of the body joins it in staying awake and suffering fever.” [al-Bukhaari (6011) and Muslim (2586)]
