SHARH OF
THE 40 HADEETH NUMBER 10
18-10-2012 (Night Dars)
HADITH NUMBER 10:
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA) who said: The
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
said, "Allah the Almighty is Good and accepts only that which is good. And
verily Allah has commanded the believers to do that which He has commanded the
Messengers. So the Almighty has said: "O (you) Messengers! Eat of the
tayyibat [all kinds of halal (legal) foods], and perform righteous deeds."
[23:51] and the Almighty has said: "O you who believe! Eat of the lawful
things that We have provided you." [2:172]" Then he (ﷺ) mentioned [the case] of a man who, having
journeyed far, is dishevelled and dusty, and who spreads out his hands to the
sky saying "O Lord! O Lord!," while his food is haram (unlawful), his
drink is haram, his clothing is haram, and he has been nourished with haram, so
how can [his supplication] be answered? [Narrated by Muslim]
Explanation of hadith is called sharh
-tafseer is explanation of the Quran
The statement of the rasul (ﷺ) which says
Allah سُبْحَانَهُ
وَتَعَالَى only accepts good is similar to surah 5:27
..."Verily, Allah accepts only from those who
are Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V.2:2)." (Al-Ma'idah 5:27)
-when the rasul (ﷺ) said that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) only accepts good
-this means that you are not allowed to do haram with good intention
-you can't bet in lottery to donate the money to the mujahideen
So if you have riba in your account, you can give it to the poor
-but do not expect any reward
-because Allah only accepts the good
-you can't give sadaqa from money earned from haram earnings
-you can't go to hajj with money from pimping girls
-you can't use haram money to feed your family
If a man feeds his family haram earnings, the sin is on him not his family
-this is because the man is the bread winner (4:34)
Men are the protectors and maintainers of
women,... (An-Nisa 4:34)
-so on judgement day she won’t be asked about the earnings
-the burden is on the man not the woman
On the authority of Abu Huraira (RA) the
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
said: "If anyone amasses wealth through haram means and then gives charity
from it, there is no regard for him and the burden of sin remains." [Sahih
Ibn Khuzaymah (4/110) No. 2471, Sahih Ibn Hibban (8/11) No. 3216 and Mustadrak
al-Haakim (1/548) No. 1440]
Narrated By 'Ali bin Al-Husain: From Safiya, the
Prophet's ﷺ wife, The wives of the Prophet ﷺ were with him in the mosque (while he was in
Itikaf) and then they departed and the Prophet said to Safiya bint Huyai,
"Don't hurry up, for I shall accompany you," (and her dwelling was in
the house of Usama). The Prophet went out and in the meantime two Ansari men
met him and they looked at the Prophet and passed by. The Prophet said to them,
"Come here. She is (my wife) Safiya bint Huyai." They replied,
"Subhan Allah, (How dare we think of evil) O Allah's Apostle! (we never
expect anything bad from you)." The Prophet replied, "Satan
circulates in the human being as blood circulates in the body, and I was afraid
lest Satan might insert an evil thought in your minds." [Sahih Bukhari,
Vol 3, Book 33, Hadith #254]
Rasul (saw) called the two men and explained that he was with his wife
-because what is haram on us is also haram on him (zina, stealing, etc.)
-because Allah commanded the same things on us and on him, HE revealed the ayah
59:7
...And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad ﷺ) gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids
you, abstain (from it), and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Severe in punishment.
(Al-Hashr 59:7)
The kuffaar of Makkah asked why Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى didn't send an angel but sent a
man
They (people of the town) said: "You are
only human beings like ourselves, and the Most Beneficent (Allah) has revealed
nothing, you are only telling lies." (Ya-Sin 36:15)
-Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى The
All-Wise knows that had He sent an angel
-we will argue that we can't do as they do
-they are able to abstain from all the sins because they are angels
-this is the hikma of Allah sending man and not angels
The rasul (ﷺ) tied 2 stones for hunger while the sahabah tied 1 stone
-he was suffering like them or even more because he had 2 stones
-this shows that he was exactly like us in being able to feel hardship
-prophets are not above the law
Abu Talha (RA) narrated: We complained to
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)
about our hunger and raising from our stomach (the garment) bared the stone
each of us had tied to it. He showed that he had two stones (tied to his
stomach.) [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/585) No. 2371, Bayhaqi in ‘Shu'ab al Emaan’ (13/54)
No. 9943]
Aisha (r.a) described him as the walking Quran because he wasn't above the law
Yazid ibn Yabnus said, "We went to 'A'isha
and said, 'Umm al-Mu'minin, what was the character of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), like?' She replied, 'His character was the
Qur'an. Can you recite the sura entitled "The Believers"?' She said,
'Recite: "It is the believers who are successful: those who are humble in
their prayer; those who turn away from worthless talk; those who actively pay
zakat; those who guard their private parts." (23:1-5)' She said, 'That was
the character of the Messenger of Allah (SAW).'" [al-Adab al-Mufrad
al-Bukhari, No. 308]
-he was asked to practice what he preached (3:121)
And (remember) when you (Muhammad ﷺ) left your household in the morning to post the
believers at their stations for the battle (of Uhud). And Allah is All-Hearer,
All-Knower. (Aali Imran 3:121)
-not even Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ
وَتَعَالَى ) Himself is above the law
-HE also testifies to the shahada (3:18)
Allah bears witness that La ilaha illa Huwa
(none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels, and those having
knowledge (also give this witness); (He is always) maintaining His creation in
Justice. La ilah illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the
All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (Aali Imran 3:18)
-Allah is forbidden to break His promises just like
us (3:9)
...Verily, Allah never breaks His Promise". (Aali Imran 3:9)
-He also made oppression haram on HIMSELF
...Allah is never unjust to (His) slaves. (Aali
Imran 3:182)
...“Oh, my servants! I have made oppression haraam
(forbidden) upon myself, and also between you. So do not oppress each
other...." [Sahih Muslim, Hadith #6246]
-it is also haram for HIM to tell a lie
-the Christians say Allah allows deception
-this is only allowed on the battlefield and not in other situations
Narrated Ka'b ibn Malik: When the Prophet (ﷺ) intended to go on an expedition, he always
pretended to be going somewhere else, and he would say: "War is
deception". [Abu Dawud 2629, Tirmidhi 1681, Ahmed 14312]
…So the Almighty has said: "O (you)
Messengers! Eat of the tayyibat [all kinds of halal (legal) foods], and perform
righteous deeds." [23:51] and the Almighty has said: "O you who
believe! Eat of the lawful things that We have provided you."
[2:172]"…
As a Muslim there are haram and halal things to eat
-you can't just put everything in the basket
WHAT IS HARAM FOR MUSLIMS TO EAT
1. DEAD MEAT
These are animals that die by themselves
-the meat has to be slaughtered by saying Bismillah, Allahu Akbar
-Allah made takfir on those who eat dead meat
Eat not (O believers) of that (meat) on which
Allah's Name has not been pronounced (at the time of the slaughtering of the
animal), for sure it is Fisq (a sin and disobedience of Allah). And certainly,
the Shayatin (devils) do inspire their friends (from mankind) to dispute with
you, and if you obey them [by making Al¬Maytatah (a dead animal) legal by
eating it], then you would indeed be Mushrikun (polytheists) [because they
(devils and their friends) made lawful to you to eat that which Allah has made
unlawful to eat and you obeyed them by considering it lawful to eat, and by
doing so you worshipped them, and to worship others besides Allah is
polytheism]. (Al-An'am 6:121)
2. SLAUGTERING OF A PAGAN
The slaughtering of Jews and Christians is halal
Made lawful to you this day are At¬Tayyibat [all
kinds of Halal (lawful) foods, which Allah has made lawful (meat of slaughtered
eatable animals, etc., milk products, fats, vegetables and fruits, etc.). The
food (slaughtered cattle, eatable animals, etc.) of the people of the Scripture
(Jews and Christians) is lawful to you and yours is lawful to them. (Al-Ma'idah
5:5)
-you need not travel long distance to get halal meat
-you can just get the meat of the Jews
-the scholars have different issues with stunned animals
-if low voltage then is halal if the animal is not dead as a result
-if high and the animal die then it is haram
-if the Jew or Christian didn't say Bismillah you say it and eat
3. FLOWING BLOOD (BLOOD THAT POURS FORTH)
The only one you are allowed to eat is the one left in the meat
-you are not held accountable for it
Say (O Muhammad ﷺ) : "I find not in that which has been
inspired to me anything forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it,
unless it be Maytatah (a dead animal) or blood poured forth (by slaughtering or
the like), or the flesh of swine (pork, etc.) for that surely is impure, or
impious (unlawful) meat (of an animal) which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for
others than Allah (or has been slaughtered for idols, etc., or on which Allah's
Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering). But whosoever is forced by
necessity without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits, (for him)
certainly, your Lord is Oft¬Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Al-An'am 6:145)
4. PORK
5. MEAT SLAUGHTERED IN THE NAME OF A FALSE DEITY
Forbidden to you (for food) are: Al-Maytatah (the
dead animals - cattle-beast not slaughtered), blood, the flesh of swine, and
the meat of that which has been slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than
Allah, or has been slaughtered for idols, etc., or on which Allah's Name has
not been mentioned while slaughtering, and that which has been killed by
strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by the goring of
horns - and that which has been (partly) eaten by a wild animal - unless you
are able to slaughter it (before its death) ¬ and that which is sacrificed
(slaughtered) on An¬Nusub (stone altars). (Al-Ma'idah 5:3)
6. THE MEAT OF THE BEAST OF PREY
For example lions, tigers etc.
7. BIRDS OF PREY
-Example the eagle, hawk
-Ahmad Ibn Hanbal classified elephant meat as makrooh
-hyena meat is halal to eat even though it is a dog
8. THE MEAT OF THE DOMESTIC DONKEYS
Narrated By Jabir bin Abdullah: On the day of
Khaibar, Allah's Apostle forbade the eating of donkey meat and allowed the
eating of horse meat. [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 5, Book 59, Hadith #530]
It was narrated that Asma’ bint Abi Bakr (RA) said: "At the time of the
Prophet (saws) we slaughtered a horse and ate it." [Narrated by al-Bukhari
(5191) and Muslim (1942)]
Horse meat is halal
-camel meat is also halal
9. ANIMALS THAT EAT FILTHY THINGS
Unless you lock it up in a cub and feed it with proper food
-you should give it at least three days to elapse before you can eat it
10. ANIMALS STRANGLED TO DEATH
...and that which has been killed by
strangling,...(Al-Ma'idah 5:3)
11. CONTAMINATED FOOD WITH DANGEROUS CHEMICALS
12. ANIMAL THAT WAS PARTLY EATEN BY A WILD ANIMAL
...and that which has been (partly) eaten by a wild
animal... (Al-Ma'idah 5:3)
13. GENETICALLY MODIFIED ANIMALS
For example chicken with the genes of pigs
14. ANIMALS THAT DIE FROM A FALL
...or by a headlong fall,... (Al-Ma'idah 5:3)
15. ANIMALS KILLED BY THE HORN OF ANOTHER ANIMAL
...or by the goring of horns... (Al-Ma'idah 5:3)
16. ANIMALS SLAUGHTERED FOR A PAGAN FESTIVAL
Festivals like Christmas, Diwali etc.
- do not marry a liberal because they'll want to celebrate Christmas every year
DEEDS ALLAH HATE
1. SHIRK
Allah does forgive shirk
-if you make taubah before you die
-but if you die in state of shirk it is impossible for you to be forgiven
Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should
be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to
whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has
indeed invented a tremendous sin. (An-Nisa 4:48)
2. TO DISOBEY YOUR PARENTS
And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but
Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them
attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at
them but address them in terms of honour. (23) And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility
through mercy, and say: "My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did
bring me up when I was small."(24) (Al-Isra 17:23-24)
Disobedient to parents is disliked in regards to good things
3. TO GIVE A FALSE TESTIMONY
And those who do not witness falsehood, and if they
pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity. (Al-Furqan
25:72)
4. MURDER
Because of that We ordained for the Children of
Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to
spread mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if
anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind. And
indeed, there came to them Our Messengers with clear proofs, evidences, and
signs, even then after that many of them continued to exceed the limits (e.g.
by doing oppression unjustly and exceeding beyond the limits set by Allāh by
committing the major sins) in the land!. (Al-Ma'idah 5:32)
5. ZINA (FORNINCATION AND ADULTERY)
And come not near to the unlawful sexual
intercourse. Verily, it is a Fāhishah [i.e. anything that transgresses its
limits (a great sin)], and an evil way (that leads one to Hell unless Allāh
forgives him). (Al-Isra 17:32)
6. STEALING
It is only haram when there is a peace treaty between you and the kaafir
-or if he is a dhimmi
-it is halal to steal from the kuffaar who are enemies of Islam
7. TO ROB THE ORPHAN
This is one of the 7 major sins
Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet (ﷺ), said, "Avoid the seven fatal sins."
They said, "Messenger of Allah, what are they?" He said,
"Associating with Allah, sorcery, killing a soul which Allah has
forbidden, except by legal right, consuming usury, consuming the property of an
orphan, fleeing on the day of battle and slandering unthinking chaste believing
women." [al-Bukhari (2766) and Muslim (89)]
Verily, those who unjustly eat up the property of
orphans, they eat up only a fire into their bellies, and they will be burnt in
the blazing Fire! (An-Nisa 4:10)
8. TO RUN FROM THE BATTLEFIELD DUE TO COWARDICE
9. TO SLANDER A PIOUS BELIEVING WOMAN
Verily! Those who brought forth the slander
(against 'Aishah the wife of the Prophet ﷺ)
are a group among you. Consider it not a bad thing for you. Nay, it is good for
you. Unto every man among them will be paid that which he had earned of the
sin, and as for him among them who had the greater share therein, his will be a
great torment. (An-Nur 24:11)
10. TO UNCOVER YOUR AWRA TO STRANGERS
And tell the believing women to lower their gaze
(from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from
illegal sexual acts, etc.) and not to show off their adornment except only that
which is apparent (like palms of hands or one eye or both eyes for necessity to
see the way, or outer dress like veil, gloves, head-cover, apron, etc.), and to
draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and
bosoms, etc.) and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, their
fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husband's sons, their
brothers or their brother's sons, or their sister's sons, or their (Muslim)
women (i.e. their sisters in Islām), or the (female) slaves whom their right
hands possess, or old male servants who lack vigour, or small children who have
no sense of the shame of sex. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal
what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg Allāh to forgive you all,
O believers, that you may be successful. (An-Nur 24:31)
And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private
parts, from illegal sexual acts) (5) Except
from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess,
for then, they are free from blame;(6) (Al-Mu'minun 23:5-6)
Bahz ibn Hakim reported from his father who from
his grandfather that he asked the Prophet (ﷺ): 'from whom they should conceal their awrah and
from whom not?' He said, “Guard your awrah except from your wife and what your
right hand possesses (female slaves).” He asked, “O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) what when people are with each other?” He said,
“If it is possible that no one may observe your private parts, see that none
sees them.” He asked, “O Prophet (ﷺ)
of Allah what if one of us is alone?” He said, “But Allah has more right that
people should be ashamed before Him.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (5/97) No. 2769, Sunan
Abu Dawud (4/40) No. 4017, Musnad Ahmad (5/3) No. 20046]
11. TO TAKE THE WEALTH OF OTHERS BY WAY OF DECEPTION
Abu Huraira narrated the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “The one who gets married with the
intention not to pay dowry to his wife is a fornicator. And the one who borrows
money with the intention not to pay back is a thief.” [Ibn Hibban in
‘al-Majruheen’ (2/261) No. 941]
O you who believe! Eat not up your property among
yourselves unjustly except it be a trade amongst you, by mutual consent. And do
not kill yourselves (nor kill one another). Surely, Allāh is Most Merciful to
you. (An-Nisa 4:29)
12. TO BRIBE A JUDGE TO DELIVER A DODGY VERDICT
Ibn Mas`ud was asked (by the people of Iraq), What
is rashwa (taking bribes)? He replied, "This is suht (unlawful
earning)." They said, "No, we meant in ruling." He then said,
"This is the very kufr." Then he recited: "...And whosoever does
not judge by what Allah has revealed, such are the Kafirun." (Al-Ma'idah
5:44) [Tafsir al-Tabari (10/321) No. 11960, Tafsir Ibn Kathir (3/119)]
13. TO TAKE BRIBES
from Abdullah ibn Amri that the Prophet (SAW)
cursed both the receiver and the giver of bribe. [Tirmidhi 1342, Abu Dawud
3580, Ibn e Majah 2313, Ahmed 7003]
14. THOSE WHO COMMIT INCEST
Both are killed if they do incest
Narrated By Al-Bara' ibn Azib: I met my uncle
who was carrying a standard. I asked him: 'Where are you going?' He said: 'The
Apostle of Allah (ﷺ)
has sent me to a man who has married his father's wife. He has ordered me to cut
off his head and take his property.' [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/157) No. 4457, Sunan
al-Nasa'i (6/109) No. 3332, Sunan al-Darime (2/205) No. 2239, Musnad Ahmad
(4/290) No. 18580]
Ibn Abbas reported that the Holy Prophet (saw)
said, “Any man who commits the crime of incest must be put to death and any man
who cohabits with an animal both him and the animal must be put to death”.
(Sunnan Ibn Majah No.2564 also Naylul Awthaar Vol. 7 pg.118)
15. TO MARRY A MUSHIRKA (A PAGAN WOMAN)
When you marry them you are making haram halal
And do not marry Al-Mushrikāt (idolatresses,
etc.) till they believe (worship Allāh Alone). And indeed a slave woman who
believes is better than a (free) Mushrikah (idolatress, etc.), even though she
pleases you. And give not (your daughters) in marriage to Al-Mushrikûn till
they believe (in Allāh Alone) and verily, a believing slave is better than a
(free) Mushrik (idolater, etc.), even though he pleases you. Those
(Al-Mushrikûn) invite you to the Fire, but Allāh invites (you) to Paradise and
Forgiveness by His Leave, and makes His Ayāt (proofs, evidences, verses,
lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) clear to mankind that they may remember.
(Al-Baqarah 2:221)
16. HAVING SEX WITH A WOMAN (YOUR WIFE) WHILE SHE IS ON HER MENSES
The punishment for this is to give away 4.25g of gold in charity
They ask you concerning menstruation. Say: that
is an Adha (a harmful thing for a husband to have a sexual intercourse with his
wife while she is having her menses), therefore keep away from women during
menses and go not unto them till they have purified (from menses and have taken
a bath). And when they have purified themselves, then go in unto them as Allāh
has ordained for you (go in unto them in any manner as long as it is in their
vagina). Truly, Allāh loves those who turn unto Him in repentance and loves
those who purify themselves (by taking a bath and cleaning and washing
thoroughly their private parts, bodies, for their prayers, etc.). (Al-Baqarah
2:222)
Ibn Abbas (RA) narrated the Prophet (ﷺ) said concerning one who had intercourse with his
wife when she was menstruating: “Let him give a dinar or half a dinar in
charity.” [Musnad Ahmad (1/229) No. 2032, Sunan Abu Dawud (2/251) No. 2168,
Sunan Tirmidhi (1/244) No. 136, Sunan An-Nasa’i (1/153) No. 289 and Sunan Ibn
Majah (1/405) No. 640]
17. BACKBITING AND SLANDER
O you who believe! Avoid much suspicions, indeed
some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one
of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate
backbiting). And fear Allāh. Verily, Allāh is the One Who accepts repentance,
Most Merciful. (Al-Hujurat 49:12)
On the authority of 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As
(RA) that the Prophet (ﷺ)
said: "A Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hands the Muslims are
safe; and a Muhajir (Emigrant) is the one who refrains from what Allah has
forbidden." [al-Bukhari (10) and Muslim (40)]
18. TO SELL WEAPONS WHEN A WAR IS UN HOLY
The recompense of those who wage war against Allāh
and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed
or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or
be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great
torment is theirs in the Hereafter. (Al-Ma'idah 5:33)
19. BEASTIALITY
Narrated By Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "If anyone has sexual intercourse with
an animal, kill him and kill it along with him." I (Ikrimah) said: I asked
him (Ibn Abbas): 'What offence can be attributed to the animal?' He replied: 'I
think he (the Prophet) disapproved of its flesh being eaten when such a thing
had been done to it.' [Sunan Abu Dawud (4/159) No. 4464, Sunan Tirmidhi (4/56)
No. 1455, Musnad Ahmad (1/269) No. 2420]
20. TAKING SIDES WITH THE KUFAAR AGAINST MUSLIMS
O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the
Christians as Auliyā' (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but
Auliyā' to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliyā', then
surely he is one of them. Verily, Allāh guides not those people who are the
Zālimûn (polytheists and wrong¬doers and unjust). (Al-Ma'idah 5:51)
Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahab, may Allah have
mercy on him, gathered ten actions that negate one's Islam (Nawaqid ul-'Ashr),
the eighth one of which states: "Assisting the disbelievers (against the
believers) (Mudhaharatul Mushrikeen) and supporting them against the believers
(is from the actions that negates of one's faith). The Proof being the
statement of Allah, "And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya', then
surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the
Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers and unjust). (The Quran 5:51)."
21. TO BE A TALE BEARER (AN NAMMAAM)
It is reported from Hudhaifa that news reached him
(the Holy Prophet) that a certain man carried tales. Upon this Hudhaifa
remarked: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)
saying: "The tale-bearer shall not enter Paradise." [al-Bukhari
(6056) and Muslim (189)]
22. DROPPING URINE ON YOUR TROUSERS
Narrated By Ibn Abbas: The Prophet ﷺ once passed by two graves, and those two persons
(in the graves) were being tortured. He said, "They are being tortured not
for a great thing (to avoid). One of them never saved himself from being soiled
with his urine, while the other was going about with calumnies (to make enmity
between friends). He then took a green leaf of a date-palm tree split it into
two pieces and fixed one on each grave. The people said, "O Allah's
Apostle! Why have you done so?" He replied, "I hope that their
punishment may be lessened till they (the leaf) become dry." [Sahih
Bukhari, Vol 2, Book 23, Hadith #443]
23. REFUSING YOUR HUSBAND'S CALL TO BED WITHOUT A VALID REASON
Abu Huraira (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "If a man calls his wife to his bed
and she refuses, and thus he spends the night angry with her, the angels
continue cursing her till the morning." [al-Bukhari (3237) and Muslim
(1436)]
Talq ibn Ali (RA) reported that Allahs Messenger
(ﷺ) said, "When a man calls his wife to satisfy
his urge then she must go to him even if she is at the stove." [Sunan
Tirmidhi (3/465) No. 1160, Sunan al-Kubra al-Nasa'i (8/187) No. 8922 and
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah (3/558) No. 17135]
24. THE WOMAN WHO IMITATES MEN AND MEN WHO IMITATE WOMEN
Abdullah ibn Umar reported that the Messenger of
Allah (ﷺ) said: "Three people will not enter paradise
and Allah will not look to them on the Day of Judgment: the one who is
disobedient to his parents, the woman who imitates men and the ad-Dayooth
(cuckold, weak man who feels no jealousy over his womenfolk)..." [Musnad
Ahmad (2/134) No. 6180, Musnad al-Bazzar (12/270) No. 6051, al-Sunnan al-Kubra
al-Nasa'i (2/63) No. 2354, al-Mu’jam al-Awsat al-Tabarani (3/51) No. 2443]
On the authority of Ibn ‘Abbas (RA) that the
Prophet (ﷺ) cursed men who imitate women and women who
imitate men, and he said: “Throw them out of your houses.” [Sahih Bukhari

Ibn ‘Abbas (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever you find doing the action of the
people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.”
[Sunan Tirmidhi (4/57) No. 1456, Sunan Abu Dawud (4/158) No. 4462, Sunan Ibn

said: “May Allah curse the one who does the action of the people of Loot, may
Allah curse the one who does the action of the people of Loot,” three times.
[Musnad Ahmad (1/317) No. 2915, This was classed as hasan by Shu’ayb
al-Arna’oot in Tahqeeq al-Musnad]
27. THE MAN WITH NO JEALOUSY WITH HIS WIFE

Majah (2/515) No. 1576]
29. THOSE WHO SEEK HELP FROM THE STARS
Qutadah said: [And indeed We have adorned the
nearest heaven with lamps... (Al-Mulk 67:5)] Allah created these stars for
three purposes, i.e. as decoration of the sky, as missiles to hit the devils,
and as signs to guide travellers. So, if anybody tries to find a different interpretation,
he is mistaken and just wastes his efforts in seeking something of which he has
no knowledge." [Sahih Bukhari, Baab fi’l-Nujoom (4/107)]
Abu Malik al-Ashari narrated the Prophet (ﷺ) said: ”There are four matters of jaahiliyyah that
exist among my ummah and they will not give them up: boasting about one’s
forefathers, casting aspersions upon people’s lineages, seeking rain by the
stars and wailing for the dead.” [Sahih Muslim (Vol. 2 pg. 644) No. 934]
30. THOSE THAT PRACTICE BLACK MAGIC
Jundub (RA) reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The hadd (prescribed punishment) for the
practitioner of magic is a blow with the sword (i.e., execution)" [Sunan
Tirmidhi (4/60) No. 1460, Sunan al-Daraqutni (4/120) No. 3204, Mustadrak

WHY OUR DUA ARE NOT ANSWERED
And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad) concerning
Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond
to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator
or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led
aright. (Al-Baqarah 2:186)
1. WE EAT HARAM FOOD
2. WE DRINK HARAM
‘Abdullah ibn Umar (RA) reported that Allah’s
Messenger (ﷺ) said, “If anyone drinks wine then his salah over
forty days are not approved. If he repents then Allah will relent to him. If he
reverts (to it), then Allah will not approve his salah over forty days. If he
repents, Allah will relent to him but if he reverts (to it) then Allah will not
approve his salah over forty days. If he repents then Allah will relent to him.
Again, if he reverts the fourth time, Allah will not approve his salah over
forty days and if he repents then Allah will not relent to him and He will give
him to drink from the river of Khabal.” Someone asked, “O Abu Abdur Rahman!
what is the river of Khabal?’ He said, “The pus of the dwellers of the people
of fire.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/290) No. 1862, Sunan Nasa'i (8/317) No. 5670,
Musnad Ahmad (2/35) No. 4917, al-Mu’jam al-Kabir al-Tabarani (12/390) No.
13441]
3. WE OBSERVE A HARAM DRESS CODE
It is haram to walk around in tight jeans
-it gets women excited
-so how can women who dress haram have their dua accepted?
4. WE COMMIT SHIRK
Allah said:
And indeed it has been revealed to you (O
Muhammad ﷺ), as it was to those (Allāh's Messengers) before
you: "If you join others in worship with Allāh, (then) surely (all) your
deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers."
(Az-Zumar 39:65)
5. WE ABANDON THE SUNNAH OF THE PROPHET (saw)
Say (O Muhammad ﷺ to mankind): "If you (really) love Allāh then
follow me (i.e. accept Islāmic Monotheism, follow the Qur'ān and the Sunnah), Allāh
will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allāh is Oft-Forgiving, Most
Merciful." (Aali Imran 3:31)
Fadalah ibn Ubayd (RA) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) heard a man make a supplication in his salah
without invocating blessing on the Prophet (ﷺ).
So he said, “He has made haste.” Then he called him and said to him or to
another.” When one of you offers salah, let him begin by praise of Allah and
His glorification. Then let him invoke blessing on the Prophet and then
supplicate for whatever he will.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (5/517) No. 3477, Sunan Abu
Dawud (2/77) No. 1481, Musnad Ahmad (6/18) No. 23982]
Umar bin Al-Khattab narrated: "Indeed the supplication stops between the
heavens and the earth. Nothing of it is raised up until you send Salat upon your
Prophet ﷺ." [Sunan Tirmidhi (2/356) No. 486]
6. WE DISOBEY OUR HUSBANDS
Umm Salamah (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Any woman, who dies while her husband
is pleased with her, will enter Paradise." [Sunan Tirmidhi (3/466) No.
1161, Sunan Ibn Majah (3/59) No. 1854]
Abdur Rahman Ibn Awf narrated the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “If a woman prays her five (daily prayers),
fasts her month (Ramadan), guards her chastity and obeys her husband, it will
be said to her: Enter Paradise by whichever of the gates of Paradise you wish.”
[Musnad Ahmad (1/191) No. 1661 and al-Tabarani; its narrators are thiqat. See
Majma’ al-Zawa’id, 4/306, Bab haqq al-zawj ‘ala’l-mar’ah]
7. WE HIDE ILM FROM THE PEOPLE
Verily, those who conceal the clear proofs, evidences
and the guidance, which We have sent down, after We have made it clear for the
people in the Book, they are the ones cursed by Allāh and cursed by the
cursers. (Al-Baqarah 2:159)
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah
(ﷺ) said, "He who is asked about knowledge (of
religion) and conceals it, will be bridled with a bridle of fire on the Day of
Resurrection." [Sunan Abu Dawud (3/321) No. 3658, Sunan Tirmidhi (5/29)
No. 2649, Sunan Ibn Majah (1/178) No. 266, Musnad Ahmad (2/263) No. 7561]
8. HYPOCRISY
Verily, the hyprocrites will be in the lowest
depths (grade) of the Fire; no helper will you find for them. (An-Nisa 4:145)
9. APOSTASY
Many people have turned apostate many years ago
-by believing in democracy
10. WE DISOBEY OUR PARENTS
11. WE DO NOT PRAY REGULARLY
12. WE HAVE NO TAWAKKUL ON ALLAH
Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust
in Allāh, certainly, Allāh loves those who put their trust (in Him). (Aali
Imran 3:159)
13. WE HAVE ERRONEOUS AQEEDA
Narrated Muawiya: I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "If Allah wants to do good to a
person, He makes him comprehend the religion. I am just a distributor, but the
grant is from Allah. (And remember) that this nation (true Muslims) will keep
on following Allah's teachings strictly and they will not be harmed by any one
going on a different path till Allah's order (Day of Judgment) is
established." [al-Bukhari (71) and Muslim (1037)]
14. WE ASK FOR SOMETHING EVIL IN OUR DUA
Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Each of you will be answered as long as he
does not become over-impatient, saying, ‘I called on my Lord and He did not
answer me.’” [al-Bukhari (6340) and Muslim (2735)]
In a variant of Muslim, “The slave continues to be answered, provided he does not pray for a wrong action or severance of kin, as long as he does not become over-impatient.” It was said, “Messenger of Allah, what is over-impatience?” He said, "He says, ‘I prayed and I prayed and I did not find Him answering me,’ so he stops short at that and ceases making supplication.” [Sahih Muslim (4/2096) No. 2735]
15. WE ENTERTAIN BAD IDEAS ABOUT ALLAH
You should be positive when making dua
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (RA), who said that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Allah the Almighty said: 'I am as My servant thinks I am. I am with him when he makes mention of Me. If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of him to Myself; and if he makes mention of Me in an assembly, I make mention of him in an assembly better than it. And if he draws near to Me an arm's length, I draw near to him a fathom's length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed." [al-Bukhari (7405) also by Muslim (2675), at-Tirmidhi (2388) and Ibn Majah (3822)]
Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “None of you should say, ‘O Allah, forgive me if You will. O Allah, have mercy on me if You will.’ He should be firm in his asking. No one can force Him.” [al-Bukhari (6339) and Muslim (2679)]
In a variant of Muslim, “He should be firm and should have great desire. Nothing is too great for Allah Almighty to give him.” [Sahih Muslim (4/2063) No. 2679]
Salman (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, ‘Nothing averts the decree except supplication and nothing but piety prolongs life.” [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/448) No. 2139, Musnad Ahmad (5/280) No. 22466]
DUA is a weapon of a believer and nothing changes Qadr but dua
It was narrated from Abu Saeed (RA) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “There is no Muslim who does not offer any Dua in which there is no sin or severing of family ties but Allah will give him one of three things in return: either He will answer his Dua sooner, or he will store it up for him in the Hereafter, or He will divert an equivalent evil away from him because of it.” They said: “We will say a lot of Dua.” The Prophet (SAW) said: “Allah is more generous.” [Musnad Ahmad (3/18) No. 11149, Mustadrak al-Haakim (1/670) No. 1816, Adaab al-Mufrad al-Bukhari (1/264) No. 710, Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaiba (10/201) No. 29780, Musnad Abi Ya'la (2/296) No. 1019, al-Mu’jam al-Awsat al-Tabarani (4/337) No. 4368]
