Deception of Devil’s Whisper
Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinns listened (to this Qur'ân). They said: 'Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Qur'ân)! (Al-Jinn 72:1)
This ayah has many benefits; the first is that the ayah is telling you that the Jinn are a creation of Allah
They are a separate species from mankind.
They were created from smokeless
fire.
The angels were created from light, Jinns from smokeless fire, and mankind from
clay.
Aisha reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "The Angels were born out of light and the Jinns were born out of the spark of fire and Adam was born as he has been defined (in the Qur'an) for you (i.e. he is fashioned out of clay)."[Sahih Muslim, Book 42, Chapter 12 Hadith #7134]
And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud.
(Al-Hijr 15:26) Sahih International
The other lesson is that the Jinn have the faculty of seeing and
hearing.
And the Jinn eat, sleep, drink, get married and have kids just like us.
The only difference is that they live longer than we live and have supernatural
powers as a test for them.
An Ifrit (strong) from the jinns said: "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place (council). And verily, I am indeed strong, and trustworthy for such work."(An-Naml 27:39)
This is evidence that the Jinn are tested by supernatural power but many of them fail this test because they use the supernatural power to cause mischief on earth.
It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allâh). (Al-Jinn 72:2)
The other lesson is that the jinn know that shirk is wrong and they are
able to differentiate right from wrong, they know that shirk is wrong.
The other lesson is that Jinn were given a free will to choose from right and
wrong.
Angels, animals do not have a free will but man and jinn were both given a free will.
They made the decision to single out Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى) for worship to prove that the jinn have a free will in the following verse.
And (remember) when We said to the angels; "Prostrate to Adam." So they prostrated except Iblis (Satan). He was one of the jinns; he disobeyed the Command of his Lord. Will you then take him (Iblis) and his offspring as protectors and helpers rather than Me while they are enemies to you? What an evil is the exchange for the Zalimun (polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc). (Al-Kahf 18:50)
Iblees rebelled against his Lord.
The angels bow downed to Adam (AS)
without rebelling because they have no free will.
Ibless rebelled against his lord because he was given free will to choose for
himself.
The majority of men use their freewill to disobey Allah
And if you obey most of those on earth, they will mislead you far away from
Allah's Path. They follow nothing but conjectures, and they do nothing but lie. (Al-An'am 6:116)
The majority people will always be evil and chose evil.
And so We have appointed for every Prophet enemies Shayatin (devils) among mankind and jinns, inspiring one another with adorned speech as a delusion (or by way of deception). If your Lord had so willed, they would not have done it, so leave them alone with their fabrications. (Al-An'am 6:112)
The enemies of the haqq can be found among the jinn and human beings.
The Jinns Admit to lying on Allah
And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allâh (Al-Jinn 72:5)
They did not realize that man and Jinn would utter lies about Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى) because it’s a great evil but when people are evil, they can’t control their tongue and their private parts.
When people don't have Taqwa they can't control their tongue and their private parts.
The worst liar is the one who lies on Allah
When you lie on Muhammad (ﷺ), you lie on Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala) because Muhammad is the messenger of Allah
And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. (Al-Jinn 72:6
Since the jinn are blessed with supernatural powers, their world is mysterious and intriguing.
Why men take shelter with the Jinns? Because these men are insecure. They think that if they are able to subdue the Jinns, they will be able to elevate themselves among other men. And seek fame and fortune.
It’s all about fame and fortunes because the jinn have supernatural powers, so there are men who have the jinn work for them because they are insecure.
But Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى) said the Jinn only increase them in sin and transgression
Because the Jinn will not work for you unless you commit Kufr and shirk
You have to give you Wala (allegiance), your soul to their master Iblis
If you don’t give your soul to Iblis, the Jinn will never work for you
They Jinn will demand you have to give your soul to our master
Who is their master - Iblis
If you don’t give your soul to Iblees, they will never work for you.
Since they can travel far distance in seconds, magicians see them as great assets.
However, Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى) did not create man and jinn for any reason, except to worship Him Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى)
And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone).
(Adh-Dhariyat 51:56)
In the above-mentioned ayah, Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى) mentions Jinn first, because they were on earth 2000 years before us.
'And we have sought to reach the heaven; but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. (Al-Jinn 72:8)
Why is Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى) guarding the heavens?
The stars are used as missiles to stop the Jinn from eavesdropping on the conversation of the angels.
And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made such lamps (as) missiles to drive away the Shayatin (devils), and have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire. (Al-Mulk 67:5)
THE STARS WERE CREATED FOR THREE REASONS:
1- To guide you at night.
2- To beautify the heavens.
3- To use the stars as missiles to burn up the shayateen when they listen to the secret conversations of the angels.
Qutadah said: [And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps. (Al-Mulk 67:5)] Allah created these stars for three purposes, i.e. as decoration of the sky, as missiles to hit the devils, and as signs to guide travellers. So, if anybody tries to find a different interpretation, he is mistaken and just wastes his efforts in seeking something of which he has no knowledge." [Sahih Bukhari, Baab fi’l-Nujoom (4/107)]
'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. (Al-Jinn 72:9)
Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى) declared an all-out war on the Jinn after the advent of the Rasul (ﷺ)
Verily! We have adorned the near heaven with the stars (for beauty). And to guard against every rebellious devil. They cannot listen to the higher group (angels) for they are pelted from every side. Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment. Except such as snatch away something by stealing and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness. (As-Saffat 37:6-10)
Not all the Jinn were stopped, some of them got away.
The jinns that get away are the ones the pass on the information to magicians, palm readers, fortune tellers, diviners
Abu Huraira reported that the Prophet (ﷺ), said “Whoever comes to a fortune-teller and believes him has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad (ﷺ)”. [Musnad Ahmad (Vol. 2, pg. 429) No. 9532 and Mustadrak al-Hakim (Vol. 1, pg. 49) No. 15]
Narrated Safiyyah, daughter of Abu `Ubaid, on the authority of some of the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) who said, "He who goes to one who claims to tell about matters of the Unseen and believes in him, his Salat (prayers) will not be accepted for forty days.'' [Muslim Chapter 303 from Imam Al-Nawawi's Riyad-us-Saliheen].
'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path. (Al-Jinn 72:10)
The jinn are saying we don’t know the future, we don’t have any knowledge of Ilm al ghaib. Not even the prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) had the knowledge of Ilm al ghaib.
Here the jinn are admitting that they have the knowledge of the unseen. The knowledge of the unseen belongs to Allah
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was told to tell the people he doesn’t have knowledge of unseen in Surah 7:118
However, the evil Shias claim that their imams are infallible and that they have knowledge of the unseen.
Say (O Muhammad ﷺ): "I possess no power of benefit or hurt to myself except as Allah wills. If I had the knowledge of the Ghaib (unseen), I should have secured for myself an abundance of wealth, and no evil should have touched me. I am but a warner, and a bringer of glad tidings unto people who believe." (Al-A'raf 7:188)
There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). (Al-Jinn 72:11)
The same way humans developed into different religious groups, the jinn are different groups
They are of three dimensions: Muslim, kufar, and hypocrite.
The Jinns are also of these three dimensions
The Jinns possess people
The scholars use Surah 2:275 to prove that Jinn possess people. This is used to checkmate the Mutazilites who claim that Jinns don’t possess people
Those who eat Riba (usury) will not stand (on the Day of Resurrection) except like the standing of a person beaten by Shaitan (Satan) leading him to insanity. That is because they say: "Trading is only like Riba (usury)," whereas Allah has permitted trading and forbidden Riba (usury). So, whosoever receives an admonition from his Lord and stops eating Riba (usury) shall not be punished for the past; his case is for Allah (to judge); but whoever returns [to Riba (usury)], such are the dwellers of the Fire - they will abide therein. (Al-Baqarah 2:275)
The Prophet (ﷺ) said the Shaitaan runs in our veins the way blood runs in our veins. So, it is possible for the Jinn to possess people
Jabir narrated that The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Do not enter upon Al-Mughibar (the women whose husband are absent), for indeed the Shaitan flows through one of you as the blood flows.” We said: “And you?” He said: “And me, but Allah helped me over him, so I am safe.” {Jami at-Tirmidhi Vol. 1, Book 7, Hadith 1172 [Hasan]}
Don’t go to homes where husbands are not there because the shaitaan runs in our veins the way blood runs in our veins.
THE REASONS WHY THE JINN POSSESS PEOPLE:
REASON: 1- YOU HARM A JINN ACCIDENTALLY.
For example, you urinate in a stone hole where he lives and he thought that you did it deliberately.
So, he possess you to take revenge
Qatadah related from 'Abdullah ibn Sarjas who said, "The Messenger of Allah forbade urination into a hole." Said Qatadah, "What is disliked about urinating into a hole?" Said he, "It is the residence of the jinn." [related by Ahmad, an-Nasa'i, Abu Dawud, al-Hakim and al-Baihaqi. Ibn Khuzaimah and Ibn as-Sakin classified it as sahih]
REASON: 2- A JINN FALLS IN LOVE WITH YOU
- You didn’t harm the Jinn but its bend on mischief
REASON: 3- A JINN IS WICKED AND IS BENT ON MISCHIEF.
REASON: 4- A JINN WORKS WITH A MAGICIAN, AND THE MAGICIAN DISPATCHES THE JINN TO POSSESS YOU AND YOU HAVE TO PAY HIM TO REMOVE THE JINN.
This is how the magician makes his money
- The angels said man will spread mischief and shed blood because they used qiyaas by looking at the jinn.
- The jinns had their own messengers.
- The evidence for this is Surah 6:130.
- Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى) told us that he sent messengers to mankind as well as jinnkind.
O you assembly of jinns and mankind! "Did not there come to you Messengers from amongst you, reciting unto you My Verses and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say: "We bear witness against ourselves." It was the life of this world that deceived them. And they will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers. (Al-An'am 6:130)
- The jinns had their messengers just like we did.
- The messenger Muhammad (ﷺ) was sent to both mankind and jinnkind.
- Many scholars are of the opinion that you are allowed to marry a jinn, especially the mutazilites
- The great scholar of Islam, Qurtubi, refuted this argument.
- He used Surah 30:21 as his evidence.
And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect. (Ar-Rum 30:21)
- The Jinns are made of smokeless fire so they have to possess somebody before they can have intercourse with you.
Aisha reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "The Angels were born out of light and the Jinns were born out of the spark of fire and Adam was born as he has been defined (in the Qur'an) for you (i.e. he is fashioned out of clay)." [Sahih Muslim, Book 42, Hadith #7134]
- Jinns are hot tempered. If you upset a Jinn, they could kill you.
- Because they are made from smokeless fire.
- A marriage in the Islamic state can only be between a man and a woman.
And if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with the orphan girls, then marry (other) women of your choice, two or three, or four but if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one or (the captives and the slaves) that your right hands possess. That is nearer to prevent you from doing injustice. (An-Nisa 4:3)
- The Jinns appear in various forms.
- They appear in human form as well as in the form of birds, black dogs, snakes, black cats, etc.
- If a black dog, a donkey or a woman who has reached puberty walks in front of you during Salah, it breaks your Salah.
The Shahabas said what about the white dog, brown dog? The prophet (ﷺ) said the black dog is the Shaitaan
- The black dog is a Shaitaan.
It was narrated that Abu Dharr said: The messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said: "When anyone of you stands to pray, then he is screened if he has in front of him something as high as the back of a camel saddle. If he does not have something as high as the back of a camel saddle in front of him, then his prayer is nullified by a woman, a donkey or a black dog." I (one of the narrators) said: "What is the difference between a black dog, a yellow one and a red one?" He said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) just like you and he said: “The black dog is a shaitan." {Sunan An Nasai: 750 & Book 9 Hadith 751} & {Book 9 Hadith 9}
The shaitaan like to possess the black dog or the black cat
- The shaitaan appears in human form too.
- Whenever the scholars talk about this, they quote the famous Hadith of Abu Huraira (RA).
- The shaitaan can see angels.
- This is by the will of Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى), Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى) willed it to happen.
And (remember) when Shaitan (Satan) made their (evil) deeds seem fair to them and said, "No one of mankind can overcome you this Day (of the battle of Badr) and verily, I am your neighbour (for each and every help)." But when the two forces came in sight of each other, he ran away and said "Verily, I have nothing to do with you. Verily! I see what you see not. Verily! I fear Allah for Allah is Severe in punishment." (Al-Anfal 8:48)
- Shaitan ran away because he saw the angels.
- He saw the angel Gabriel coming with 1000 angels to fight with the Prophet (ﷺ). at the battle of Badr.
- The scholars of Islam use this verse to prove the Shaitaan can see angels.
- The Shaitaan can cause you to have diabetes, meningitis, tuberculosis, cancer, etc. or whatever disease that is out there.
- A childhood friend climbed a tree six months ago and had epilepsy in the tree and he fell and broke this neck and died.
- Epilepsy can be from the Shaitaan
- Ibn Taymiyyah said that idiomatic epilepsy is from the shaitaan.
- All these diseases that people have are all from Iblees.
- He declared war on us and one of his strategies is to use all these diseases.
So whosoever receives an admonition from his Lord and stops eating Riba (usury) shall not be punished for the past; his case is for Allah (to judge); but whoever returns [to Riba (usury)], such are the dwellers of the Fire - they will abide therein. (Al-Baqarah 2:275)
- You should say ‘audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem’ and make dhikr.
- It is only by the dhikr of Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى), you can protect yourself against the waswasa of the Shaitaan.
- Prophet Ayyub (AS) became very sick and he blamed Iblees for it.
- This is the evidence used by the scholars to say that the Shaitaan can destroy your health.
- So, the Satan is behind the suffering of many people who have illnesses.
- The Shaitaan inspires people with evil thoughts.
Verily, those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V.2:2), when an evil thought comes to them from Shaitan (Satan), they remember (Allah), and (indeed) they then see (aright). (Al-A'raf 7:201)
- When you have thoughts to drink alcohol and commit zina, they are from the shaitaan.
- You should say ‘audhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem’ and make dhikr.
- It is only by the dhikr of Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى), you can protect yourself against the waswasa of the shaitaan.
Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah, Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest. (Ra'd 13:28)

"I found a woman ruling over them, and she has been given all things that could be possessed by any ruler of the earth, and she has a great throne. "I found her and her people worshipping the sun instead of Allah, and Shaitan (Satan) has made their deeds fair-seeming to them, and has barred them from (Allah's) Way, so they have no guidance," (An-Naml 27:23-24)
- Even a bird understands that evil thoughts are from the Satan.
- When the kuffar think, they know about animal psychology, we can teach them about it.
- Whenever a child is born, the Shaitan is there; he touches the child and causes it to cry.
Narrated Sa`id bin Al-Musaiyab: Abu Huraira said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'No child is born but that, Satan touches it when it is born whereupon it starts crying loudly because of being touched by Satan, except Mary and her son." Abu Huraira then said, "Recite, if you wish: "And I seek Refuge with You (Allah) for her and her offspring from Satan, the outcast." (3.36) [Sahih al-Bukhari Vol. 6, Book 60, Hadith 71] {Sahih al-Bukhari 3431 Vol. 4, Book 55, Hadith 641}
- The Shaitaan doesn't give up.
- Satan and his henchmen have a profound influence over some people.
- The wife of Imran was terrified of the shaitaan affecting her offspring.
Then when she delivered her [child Maryam (Mary)], she said: "O my Lord! I have delivered a female child," - and Allah knew better what she delivered, - "And the male is not like the female, and I have named her Maryam (Mary), and I seek refuge with You (Allah) for her and for her offspring from Shaitan (Satan), the outcast." (Aali Imran 3:36)
- Surah Baqarah drives away the shaitaan.
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Do not make your houses as graveyards. Satan runs away from the house in which Surah Baqara is recited. [Muslim Book 004, Hadith Number 1707]
Narrated An-Nu'man bin Bashir: that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Indeed Allah wrote in a book two thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth, and He sent down two Ayat from it to end Surat Al-Baqarah with. If they are recited for three nights in a home, no Shaitan shall come near it." [Jami At Tirmidhi Vol: 1 Book 42 Hadith 2882 & Book 45 Hadith 3124]
- The jinns like to live in abandoned homes and stone holes.
Said Qatadah, "What is disliked about urinating into a hole?" Said he, "It is the residence of the jinn." [related by Ahmad, an-Nasa'i, Abu Dawud, al-Hakim and al-Baihaqi. Ibn Khuzaimah and Ibn as-Sakin classified it as sahih]
- They like to live in deserts.
- Before you live in a house that was abandoned, you should read Surah Baqarah in the house or play it.
- The jinns have an advantage over us in the sense that they can see us but we can't see them.
O Children of Adam! Let not Shaitan (Satan) deceive you, as he got your parents [Adam and Hawwa (Eve)] out of Paradise, stripping them of their raiments, to show them their private parts. Verily, he and Qabiluhu (his soldiers from the jinns or his tribe) see you from where you cannot see them. Verily, We made the Shayatin (devils) Auliya' (protectors and helpers) for those who believe not. (Al-A'raf 7:27)
- They like to look at the private parts of people.
- Before you enter the toilet you should say:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبْثِ وَالْخَبَاﺋِﺚِ
Allahumma innee a’uuthubika minal khubthi wal khabaa'ith. O Allah, I seek refuge in you from all evils, and evil doers.
- Some jinns work for fortune tellers.
- They listen to the conversations in the heavens and they mix one truth with a hundred lies.
Safiyya reported from some of the wives of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) having said: He who visits a diviner ('Arraf (Fortune teller)) and asks him about anything, his prayers extending to forty nights will not be accepted. {Sahih Muslim 2230 & Muslim Book 26 Chapter 33 Hadith 5540}
“Whoever goes to a soothsayer or fortune-teller and believes what he says has disbelieved in that which was releaved to Muhammed (ﷺ).” (Abu Dawud in his Sunan with a Saheeh Isnaad)
- It is permissible for you to recite over a person who is possessed and that is the only way to cure a person of possession.
- To use one jinn to fight another jinn is haram?
- This is because this person is subduing the jinns and only Prophet Sulaiman (AS) is allowed to subdue the jinns.
- If the jinn work for you without you soliciting the help, you are not guilty.
- For you to ask the jinn for help and subdue the jinn, that is haram.
- If you are fixing your car and the car fell on you and a Muslim jinn lifted the car to help, you didn't do anything wrong.
- The jinns will work with you if you are prepared to commit Major Shirk.
THE FOUR REASONS WHY JINNS POSSESS PEOPLE
REASON # 1: TO TAKE REVENGE
- Maybe you harmed the jinn inadvertently.
- Maybe you urinated in a stone hole where he lives and he thinks you are messing around.
Said Qatadah, "What is disliked about urinating into a hole? "Said he, "It is the residence of the jinn."
[related by Ahmad, an-Nasa'i, Abu Dawud, al-Hakim and al-Baihaqi. Ibn Khuzaimah and Ibn as-Sakin classified it as sahih]
REASON # 2: THE JINN FELL IN LOVE WITH YOU
- Ibn Taymiyyah gave us this reason.
REASON # 3: THE JINN IS WICKED AND MISCHIEVOUS
- He possesses you to oppress you.
REASON # 4: THE JINN WORKS FOR A MAGICIAN
- The magician dispatches the jinn to possess you.
- Then you have to pay the magician money to get rid of the jinn.
- This is how the magician makes money.
- Whenever the jinni possesses someone and the exorcist asks the jinn to leave in the name of Jesus, the jinn will leave.
- The jinn leave to convince everyone at the symposium that Jesus is God.
- Jinns will leave the body either with Tawheed or with Shirk.
- You overpower the jinn with Tawheed or he leaves voluntarily when he hears shirk.
- Muslims are not allowed to use shirk for their exorcism.
- Muslims are only allowed to use Tawheed.
- You are only allowed to use a qualified exorcist who uses Tawheed.
- It is haram to approach someone who uses shirk to exorcise.
- The jinns job is to mislead so sometimes jinns possess idols.
- All of you have a companion from the angels and a companion from the jinns.
- The Qareen is a companion.
Abdullah b. Mas'ud reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: There is none amongst you with whom is not an attached from amongst the jinn (devil). They (the Companions) said: Allah's Messenger, with you too? Thereupon he said: Yes, but Allah helps me against him and so I am safe from his hand and he does not command me but for good.
{Muslim Book 39 Chapter 14 Hadith 6757}
- Sometimes the jinns scare people.
- They give people nightmares.
- Sometimes they take on the form of your dead grandmother or relative who you buried a week ago to make you become delusional.
- This is one of their famous games that they play with people.
- Whenever you get a bad dream you should say a’udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem, spit three times and change your position.
- The bad dream is from the Shaitaan.
- Haste and anger are from the Shaitaan.
Sahl ibn Sa’d Sa’idi reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “Deliberation is from Allah, but haste is from the devil”. [Sunan Tirmidhi (4/367) No. 2012]
- When you are angry, you should make wudu to calm down.
Narrated Atiyyah as-Sa'di: Abu Wa'il al-Qass said: We entered upon Urwah ibn Muhammad ibn as-Sa'di. A man spoke to him and made him angry. So he stood and performed ablution; he then returned and performed ablution, and said: My father told me on the authority of my grandfather Atiyyah who reported the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: Anger comes from the devil, the devil was created of fire, and fire is extinguished only with water; so when one of you becomes angry, he should perform ablution. (Sunan Abi Dawud 4784) [Da'if]
- When you go to some churches, you will hear women speaking in tongues you've never heard before. They'll say they are possessed by the Holy Spirit.
- They are possessed by jinns. This is why they are speaking in tongues you haven't heard before.
- They are speaking in languages which are not comprehensible.
(It has been revealed to me that) When the slave of Allâh (Muhammad SAW) stood up invoking (his Lord Allâh) in prayer to Him they (the jinns) just made round him a dense crowd as if sticking one over the other (in order to listen to the Prophet's recitation). (Al-Jinn 72:19)
- This proves that the jinns are zealous about learning the haqq.
- The jinns crowded the Prophet (ﷺ) to listen to him.
Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى) is saying some men use protection of jinn protection
And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. (Al-Jinn 72:6)
Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى) says some people that go to the jinn for shelter, refuge and protection.
Here Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى) is saying the only protection shelter and refuge is with Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى) not the jinn
Because to have Jinn working for you was exclusive only to Prophet Sulaiman (AS)
Sulaiman's (AS) dua for a kingdom was answered
He said: "My Lord! Forgive me, and bestow upon me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me: Verily, You are the Bestower."So, We subjected to him the wind, it blew gently to his order whithersoever he willed, (Sad 38:35-36)
The wind was subjected to Sulaiman (AS)
And also the Shayatin (devils) from the jinns (including) every kind of builder and diver, And also others bound in fetters [Saying of Allah to Sulaiman (Solomon)]: "This is Our gift, so spend you or withhold, no account will be asked."(Sad 38:37-39)
It is inappropriate for us to subdue the jinn and have them work for us or go to them for refuge
To subdue the jinn is exclusive to Suleiman (AS); nobody else
There are three types of jinn.
Narration By Abu Tha’labah al-Khushani said: “The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said: ‘The jinn are of three types: a types that has wings, and they fly through the air; a type that looks like snakes and dogs; and a type that stops for a rest then resumes its journey. {Reported by al-Tahhaawi in Mushkil al-Athaar, 4/95, and by al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer, 22/214 [Shaykh al-Albaani said in al-Mishkaat (2/1206, no. 414: al-Tahhaawi and Abu’l-Shaykh reported it with a saheeh isnaad}
The Prophet (ﷺ) also says cover your utensils
Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah May Allah be pleased with him The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Cover your utensils and tie your water skins, and close your doors and keep your children close to you at night, as the Jinns spread out at such time and snatch things away. When you go to bed, put out your lights, for the mischief-doer (i.e. the rat) may drag away the wick of the candle and burn the dwellers of the house." Ata said, "The devils." (instead of the Jinns) {Sahih Bukhari vol: 4: book 54 Hadith 533}
The Rasul (ﷺ) said when you answer the call of nature; do not make istinja with bones because the bones belong to the Jinns. It is food for your brother’s the Jinn.
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Don't cleanse yourself with dung or with bones for that is the food of your brothers from amongst the Jinn [Transmitted by Tirmidhi, #350 Nasa’i with this exception that he did not make mention of The Food of your brothers from amongst the jinn]
The Shaitan gets loose at Maghrib time so bring your children in.
Narrated Ali ibn Abu Talib said on the pulpit in the mosque of Kufah: When Friday comes, the devils go to the markets with their flags, and involve people in their needs and prevent them from the Friday prayer. {Abu Dawood 1046}
We act upon this Hadith by making this dua before we enter the toilet
Narrated Ali ibn Abu Talib Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: The screen between the eyes of Jinn and the private parts of the sons of Adam as one of them enters the privy is that he should say: Bismilah In the name of Allah. [This hadith has been transmitted by Tirmidhi 358 and he said: It is a gharib hadith and its isnad is not sound.]
The Rasul (ﷺ) used Surah al-Falaq and an-Nas to seek protection against the Jinn and the evil eye.
Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى) says in the Quran that the Shaitan likes to look at the private parts of humans.
Narrated Abu Sa'id al-Khudri the Prophet (ﷺ) used to seek protection against the Jinn and the evil eye till Surahs al-Falaq and an-Nas were revealed. After they were revealed, he stuck to them and discarded everything beside them. [Transmitted by Tirmidhi 1019]
When the Rasul (ﷺ) used to recite Surah Rahman for the Jinns they used to cram the environment.
The jinn used to climb on each other to hear the recitation of the Rasul (ﷺ).
The jinn were zealous about the knowledge the Rasul (ﷺ) brought them.
Except to a Messenger (from mankind) whom He has chosen (He informs him of unseen as much as He likes), and then He makes a band of watching guards (angels) to march before him and behind him. (Al-Jinn 72:27)
The purpose of sharing the knowledge with messengers is so people are convinced they are real messengers
No fake messengers
He shares knowledge of the unseen with Messengers
Knowledge of Ilm al Ghaib (Unseen)
Sometimes Allah ( الله سبحانه وتعالى) speaks to the Angels about what will happen next week, next year etc.
'Abdullah bin 'Umar (RA) said: One day the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) mentioned Al-Masih Dajjal (the Antichrist) in the presence of the people and said, "Verily, Allah is not one-eyed but Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal is blind in the right eye which looks like a swollen grape." [Al-Bukhari (7127) and Muslim (169)]
The jinn steal the secrets and give to fortune-tellers.
Narrated `Aisha: Some people asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about the fore-tellers He said. ' They are nothing" They said, 'O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Sometimes they tell us of a thing which turns out to be true." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "A Jinn snatches that true word and pours it In to the ear of his friend (the fore-teller) (as one puts something into a bottle) The foreteller then mixes with that word one hundred lies."{Sahih al-Bukhari 5762 & Bukhari Vol. 7, Book 71, Hadith 657}
For fortune tellers mix up truth with lies.
Some jinn were destroyed by shooting stars as they tried to steal the secrets.
And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made such lamps (as) missiles to drive away the Shayatin (devils), and have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire. (Al-Mulk 67:5)
Soothsayers and palm readers listen to the jinn.
Narrated `Aisha: Some people asked Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) about the fore-tellers He said. ' They are nothing" They said, 'O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Sometimes they tell us of a thing which turns out to be true." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "A Jinn snatches that true word and pours it into the ear of his friend (the fore-teller) (as one puts something into a bottle) the foreteller then mixes with that word one hundred lies."{Sahih al-Bukhari Book 76 Hadith 5762 & Bukhari Vol. 7, Book 71, Hadith 657}
[He (Allâh) protects them (the Messengers)], till He sees that they (the
Messengers) have conveyed the Messages of their Lord (Allâh). And He (Allâh)
surrounds all that which is with them, and He (Allâh) keeps count of all things
(i.e. He knows the exact number of everything).
(Al-Jinn 72:28)
O Messenger (Muhammad ﷺ)! Proclaim (the Message) which has been sent down to you from your Lord. And if you do not, then you have not conveyed His Message. Allah will protect you from mankind. Verily, Allah guides not the people who disbelieve. (Al-Ma'idah 5:67)
This verse cause the Prophet (ﷺ) to say to his bodyguards that he did not need them anymore for protection.
And We have put a barrier before them, and a barrier behind them, and We have covered them up, so that they cannot see. (Ya-Sin 36:9)
The Prophet (ﷺ) recited this verse and his enemies could not see him. It protected him from the plot of the Quraish.
Seven young men were planted outside the door of Muhammad (ﷺ) they planned to kill him by stabbing him.
He sprinkled dust on their heads and recited 36:9
This ayah was use as a protection for the Rasool (ﷺ) as him migrated from Mecca to Medina.
SIMPLE THINGS TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM THE SHAYTAAN
1. When you enter the house, leaving
Narrated By Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a man goes into his house, he should say: "O Allah! I ask Thee for good both when entering and when going out; in the name of Allah we have entered, and in the name of Allah we have gone out, and in Allah or Lord do we trust." He should then greet his family. [Abu Dawud, Book 36, Hadith #5077]
Bismillaah, tawakkaltu ‛alal-laah, wa laa ḥawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaah
Anas ibn Maalik (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “If anyone who goes out of his home says: In the name of Allah. I trust in Allah. There is no power and strength save in Allah, then it is said to him, ‘You are well provided and protected,’ and the devil goes away from him. [Tirmidhi 3437, Abu Dawud 5076, Nisai 89]
2. Three times in the morning (after Fajr), and three times in the evening (after ‘Asr or Maghrib)
Ayshah (RA) narrated: When the Prophet (ﷺ) came to his bed every night, he would place together both palms (in a scoop), blow on them and recite on them: “Surah al-Ikhlas, al-Falaq and an-Naas”. Then he would wipe them on as much of his body as he could, beginning them at his head and his face and that of his body that is in the front. He would do that three times. [Sunan Tirmidhi (5/473) No. 3402, Sahih Bukhari (8/70) No. 6319, Sunan Abu Dawud (4/313) No. 5056, Ibn e Majah (5/41) No. 3875]
Abdullah ibn Khubayb narrated: We went out on a rainy, extremely dark night seeking Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ), that he might lead us in salah. I found him. He said to me, “Say!” But I did not say anything. Then he said, “Say!” Again, I did not say anything. Once again he said, “Say!” I asked, “What shall I say?” He said, “Say: 'Say: He is Allah the One and Only. (112:1) (Surah al-Ikhlas) al-Falaq and an-Naas when you are in the evening and in the morning, three times. This will suffice you in everything.” [Tirmidhi (3575), Abu Dawud (5082), Nisai (5443)]
Ayshah narrated: Allah’s Messenger looked at the moon and said, “O Ayshah, seek refuge in Allah from the mischief of this, for, it causes darkness when it sets.” [Tirmidhi 3377, Ahmed 24377]
3. The du’a for entering the toilet (Just before)
It was narrated from Zayd ibn Arqam (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said: “These toilets are haunted (inhabited by devils), so when anyone of you goes to the toilet let him say, ‘A’oodhu Billaahi min al-khubthi wa’l-khabaa’ith (I seek refuge Allaah from the male and female devils).” [Abu Dawood, 6; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood]
Narrated Anas: Whenever the Prophet went to answer the call of nature, he used to say; اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الخُبُثِ وَالخَبَائِثِ“Allahumma inni a'uthu bika min al-kubthi wal-khabaa'ith.” (O Allah, I seek refuge in you from the male and female Devils). [al-Bukhari (142) and Muslim (375)]
The same applies to the du’aa’ for leaving the washroom. Al-Tirmidhi (7) narrated that ‘Aa’ishah said: When the Prophet (ﷺ) exited the toilet, he used to say Ghufraanaka (Your forgiveness).
4. The du’a for setting foot in a new place:
A‛oodhu bi kalimaat-illaahit-taammaati min sharri maa khalaq Laa ilaaha ill-allaahu, waḥdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, yuḥyee wa yumeetu, wa huwa ‛alaa kulli shay’in qadeer
How does each one protect you (with the permission of Allah)?
1. The shaytaan is refused permission to stay in your house or eat your food.
2. They will suffice you against every single thing.
3. (a) There will be nothing between you and Paradise except death. (b) Allah will send a protector to protect you against everything, and the shaytaan will not approach you.
4. You will be protected from the male and female shaytaan who reside in the bathroom.
5. The angels say, “You will be defended, protected, and guided,” and you will be protected from shaytaan.
6. Nothing will harm you until you leave.
7. Nothing will harm you for the rest of the day/night.
8. Allah will send guardian angels to protect you from the shaytaan until morning/evening comes.
